Christmas Re-cap

I hope everyone had a merry Christmas!!  We are still trying to open toys from the million twist ties they are in and organize them!  It might be time for some toy storage in Reagan's room.  We got to celebrate six times with family!  Our first celebration was a few days before Christmas.  We had our family Christmas before heading out of town.

Westin got a bike and Reagan got a hippo chair from Santa.  Westin loves his bike and has already learned how to do the pedals so we are just waiting on a warm day to take it outside.

After our Christmas, we headed to Little Rock to start the other celebrations.

Reagan found one of Gran's trees!

We went to my grandparent's house on Sunday.  My cousin's little girl uses this walker and it was a big hit with the little kids!  Not sure why he has on headphones though.  :)

Grammy and Grampy with 20 of their 21 great-grandchildren.

These three boys decided to escape the chaos and go for a walk and throw sticks into the creek.

And do some four wheeler riding.

Next up was Christmas Eve at my other grandparent's house.

On our way!

Christmas morning at my parent's house.

Colson and Westin got shopping carts.  Westin loves pushing his around and wants Reagan to ride it it!  Not happening.

Next up was Christmas at Gigi and Papa's house.

We finished our celebrating at Cody's parent's house.

We woke up the on Wednesday to this:

It was about 10" of beautiful snow.  The roads were clear enough to head back home that afternoon and we have been unpacking and cleaning ever since!  It felt like a whirlwind trip but it is always so fun spending Christmas with our families.

Merry Christmas!

I wish I could send everyone of you a Christmas card!  Y'all are so sweet to read my blog and always leave the nicest most encouraging comments.  Getting Christmas cards is one of my favorite things about December.  Westin has loved opening them this year and looking at all the pictures.

When I saw this chalkboard style card I knew I just had to use it!  :)  Then I saw the colorful card below and ordered a few of those too.  I still totally under estimated the amount I needed and also had to get some photo cards from Sam's.   Maybe next year I'll be more organized!  Bethany Blair took our family pictures this year.  I love them!

If you remember, I was so worried if Westin would smile or not for the pictures.  Well, he turned out to be a total ham and my smiley happy baby was so serious!  I couldn't believe it!  We got one picture of Reagan smiling and Westin smiled so big for every picture.  Our pictures were on the edge of the woods and he said he was in a "rainforest just like Diego and baby jaguar!"  He was so excited!

I hope everyone has a very Merrry Christmas!

Welcome, Trophy

The new Unfading Beauty winner is #22, Jamie Pennington! Since you left your email address I will forward it to Leah. Thank you!

Also, I want to say Congratulations to my brother, Andrew and his fiance, Jessica.  They got engaged on Dec. 8th.  We are all very excited!

We joined the Elf of the Shelf bandwagon this year and it has been so much fun.  I got one last year but waited to do it this year since I knew Westin would be more into it.  Plus, I wanted him to be old enough to name him all on his own.

I knew I wanted to do the Elf but also wanted to incorporate Jesus so Westin doesn't try to be good just for the Elf, but because he knows it makes Jesus happy.  I also knew he wouldn't be able to sit still for the whole book so Santa wrote a letter explaining that he was sending his friend to help Westin remember what Christmas is all about....loving others, helping others and remembering God sent his Son because he loved us so much.  I adapted the letter from THIS letter.

While I was taking these pictures of Westin and Reagan, Cody snuck out and put the package outside the front door.  He then rang the doorbell and yelled, "Ho! Ho! Ho!" loud enough for us to hear.  I SO wish I had Westin's reaction on video camera.  He jumped up and said, "Santa is HERE!!!!"  It was precious!  He was ecstatic!

He ran to the front door and was so excited to see a present that he truly believed was from Santa!

I read the letter to him while he played with the elf (and while Reagan ate paper).  Then I told him he had to name him.  At first he said he didn't know.  I offered "Christmasy" suggestions but he said, "how about Trophy?"  I have no idea where he got that.  He doesn't have any trophies and I have never talked about a trophy but he chose that name and I love it.

The no touch rule was hard that first day but he gets it now and loves seeing where he is every day.  His favorite times are when Trophy makes a "booby trap" with ribbon or string.  :)  Sometimes I don't know where Cody has put him but Westin always spots him.

The funniest thing about the whole thing is that he blames Trophy for things!  I asked him how his toy got behind the chair in the living room and his reply was, "Maybe Trophy did it."  He is a mess!  I love doing the Elf.  It is not really about being good to get toys but just seeing the funny things Trophy does every day.  I can see this tradition lasting a long time!

Christmas Shirts and Santa Visit

I have a few posts I would like to write so I might publish three or four right in a row.  I'm going to take the next few weeks off from blogging and enjoy the Christmas season.  I am soooo close to being caught up with my emails!  :)

I made some Christmas shirts for Westin and Reagan to wear this month.  Reindeer and ornament shirts.

Here is the happy boy himself with his shirt on.  :/

Ornament shirts.

The Sunday after Thanksgiving we took them to see Santa.  Westin was beside himself!  He was so excited!  Here is a picture of him when he saw Santa coming to get in his chair.

He told Santa he wanted a "Spider-Man motorcycle" and Reagan wanted a "baby doll."

Reagan liked him too and just kept petting his beard and fur jacket.  Haha!

Since Reagan has been sick she hasn't gotten to wear her Christmas dresses to church.  Here she is in one of them.  :)

I love making these Christmas memories!

Christmas Kitchen and Dining Room Decor

The kitchen is always fun to decorate and just puts me in the baking mood.  :)  I love decorating with Santas and if it is a glittered Santa, then even better!

Sorry these pics are kind of blurry and dark.  I'm not sure what was going on.  The picture below is before I changed the chalkboard in the living room.

I keep all our Christmas cards in this little snowman wall pocket.  Next year I might do something different though because I love being able to see the cards.

I love this hand painted pie dish from a craft fair and the vintage Santa sleigh.  Westin has been dying for one of these candy canes but they are about 3-4 years old!  I just pack them up after Christmas and store them in the Christmas bins until next year.  :)  I did buy him some new mini candy canes though.

This was my favorite Christmas decoration last year and I think it is again this year.  I love THIS print from Jones Design Company and these are my favorite ornaments. I stuck a bow and small ornament on the frame with sticky tack.

The other night we did a little hand print snowman family with Westin and Reagan.  It was a chore getting Reagan's hand print!  :)

In our dining room I hung the "JOY" letters that we made last month in my bunco group and added some trees to the china cabinet..

I hung these little greenery swags up with some command strips and added the feathers and giant ornament.

One of my favorite ornaments is this coconut nativity from Hawaii.

These little stockings on the back of the chairs have been a little too tempting for W and R.  Westin likes to run by and swing them and Reagan likes to crawl under them and chew on the bell.  So they are usually flipped up over the chair, out of reach.

I thought the candles were a little plain so I added some burlap ribbon and secured it with an upholstery tack.

Thank you for being patient with me!  I'm still slowly but surely working through my emails.  I haven't gotten to respond to any the past couple of days since Reagan got sick.  Just know I am praying for you all and will respond!

Also, please scroll down to THIS post and see if you won the Unfading Beauty giveaway.  If I do not hear from the winner by my next post (hopefully in a day or so) then I will announce a new winner.
