Fall Festivities

I love the fall weather we have been having and all the festivities!  I don't think we will ever get a picture of these two again where they are both looking at the camera and smiling.  At least not for several years.  :)  This sequence of pictures cracks me up.

Last weekend, the church where Westin goes to MDO, had a fall festival.  This was the first time he got to wear his costume and he loved it!  What is it about little boys and pirates?

I think Reagan actually liked her costume.  She kept the hood up the whole time and never tried to take it off.  A girl should only dress up as an elephant while they are a baby.  :)

Westin loved playing the fun little games they had.  The tongue is for concentration.

We also made a few crafts this past weekend.

We sent the ghosts to the grandparent's.  Hopefully they will get them today!  We are going to trick or treat at Daddy's work this afternoon and then go around our neighborhood tonight!

Happy Halloween!

Easy and Fast Chalkboard

This was a very easy, very fast, very inexpensive project.  I picked up one of these trays at the dollar store and gave it a few coats of chalkboard paint.  After hot gluing a bow on it, I called it done.  I love that with hot gluing the bow on you can easily pull it off and change it out with the seasons or with you mood.  :)

Silhouettes

For as long as I can remember, these silhouettes have hung in my grandparent's bedroom.  I told Grammy last time I was at her house that I loved them and wanted to know about them.  She said they were made when they were first married and living in New Orleans.  It was in 1948 when she was 19 and Grampy was 23.  I love classic heirlooms like that!  The next time I saw her they were wrapped up for me.  She wanted someone to have them that appreciated them.  They are definitely priceless to me.

I hung them in our guest bathroom because I love the black against the sage green walls.  I also love the original frames and mattes.

I posted this picture on instagram a couple of weeks ago (I finally joined!)  If you would like to follow me, my ID is sldavis08.  I don't post all the time and when I do it is usually of the kiddos, so fair warning.  :)

Westin's Re-Arranged Room

I feel like I have so many posts swirling around in my head and not enough time to even upload the pictures.  I barely even open my laptop these days!  Maybe I'll catch up one day.  :)

When we moved Westin's room to the former guest room, I was just never happy with the layout. You can see the pictures HERE. We put the crib on the wall that wasn't the garage wall since we worried it would wake him up.  That meant it was a little close to the door and it kind of made the layout awkward.  When my parents were up a few weeks ago I asked them to help me re-arrange.  I am so happy with the new layout!

Walking in from the hallway:
I still haven't put anything in those bottom two picture frames.  :)

Looking in from the doorway:
It still makes me twitch a little to not have the crib in the center of the wall but play space was the number one priority.  :)  He is on the garage wall now but so far he hasn't seem to notice.

Standing by the crib, looking at the door wall:
Most of his clothes and a few toys are in the black cabinet.

Here is his new play area:
Are you wondering what happened to his bookshelves?  Well, I walked into his room after feeding Reagan one day and found this:

Yeah.  I asked him what happened and he said, "I was doing gymnastics."  So, we put those in the garage and maybe we will hang them back up when he is a little older.  :)

So for now his books are in the cubbies with his toys.  I love how much more accessible his toys are are and his room just feels so much bigger.
We play in there a lot now and he wants to show everyone who comes over "his new room!" :)

Six Months-Reagan

Monthly stickers from HERE

On October 4th, Reagan turned half a year old!  Hard to imagine.  She is really starting to show her personality and thankfully it is a happy all the time personality!  She is smiling all day long and she has found her voice.  It is loud!  :)

Reagan, here are some things you are up to:
- Size 3 diapers
- 9 month clothes
- You probably weigh around 17-18 pounds.
- You are rolling all over the place.
- You love your excersaucer the most right now but will still play on your play mat and sit in your lamb seat for short periods of time.
- You take two naps a day and if we are home for those naps, they are usually a couple of hours (or more!) each.
- You go to bed around 7:30-8 at night and still wake up once to eat and then wake up for the day around 7:30.
- You got to try rice cereal, avocados, bananas, apples, sweet potatoes and peaches the past couple of weeks and you don't really seem to care either way.
-  Right now you eat baby food once a day whenever we get around to it but pretty soon we will start you on set times.
- You nurse about every three hours.
- You are close to sitting up on your own.  Maybe by the end of this month you will have it mastered.
- You love watching your brother!  You smile and squeal at him all day.
- You have still only laughed a few times!  You smile so big I think you will pop but you will not let out a laugh.  It is pretty funny!
- You love Baby Einstein movies and kick and squeal at your favorite parts.
- You LOVE to bounce!  This is so different from your brother.  He never bounced in anything but you bounce in your excersaucer, johnny jumper and if you are standing on our laps.
- You are so social and nosy.  Just a typical girl!  :)  You have to always know what is going on and you smile at anyone who looks at you.
- You are doing great at nursery and BSF.  They say you are just so happy and expressive.  I'm so glad you like going places and I hope this lasts.
- You do not take a bottle.  Just like your brother.  :( I'm not sure how that is going to work next Thursday when I go to a craft fair all day.  Daddy is going to have a time trying to get you to drink a bottle.
- I have given you a sippy cup of water a few times and you love it!  Daddy will probably have to put your milk in that.
- Your hair is coming in really dark and some people are saying you are looking more like me.  I still see Westin and Daddy.  :)

I'm sure I am missing so much but I just love this age!  You are so happy and cuddly.  We love you so much!

I just re-read Westin's 6 month post and it sounds pretty much the exact same!   :)  Well, except on their weight and clothes size.  Haha!

Feeding the Ducks

Be sure to scroll down to the next post to see the 3rd Floor Art giveaway winner!

We needed to kill some time the other day so we loaded up to go feed the ducks.  I took Westin last year and he was more interested in eating the bread, but he really enjoyed it this time!  Ray Ray was just happy to watch.

Westin took his job very seriously and would yell at the ducks, "Come here ducks!  Don't forget this piece!  Here's a triangle piece! (a piece of bread shaped like a triangle) Here ya go!"

He threw that bread with all his might!

And yes, I do kiss these cheeks 1,000 times a day!

Fall Kitchen

I didn't do as much in my kitchen either this year.  I have always loved this treat jar that I got at Hallmark several years ago.

The only thing I added behind my sink was some faux leaves under the candles.

My little pumpkin men are on top of the china cabinet.

This print is from HERE.

My treat jars are now filled with these ghosts.  I found the idea HERE and they will be given to Westin's class mates for Halloween.

I do have my Lori C. Mitchell trick or treaters in our guest bathroom but I cannot get a good picture in there since there is no light.
