Easy and Fast Chalkboard

This was a very easy, very fast, very inexpensive project.  I picked up one of these trays at the dollar store and gave it a few coats of chalkboard paint.  After hot gluing a bow on it, I called it done.  I love that with hot gluing the bow on you can easily pull it off and change it out with the seasons or with you mood.  :)

Did you tape off the edges? And I'm guessing the tray itself is plastic, right, from the Dollar Tree? I liked that you initially displayed it vertically, instead of the expected horizontal. Cute and smart!

I did not tape off the edges. I just used a foam brush and was careful but it is definitely not perfect! :) Yes it's from the Dollar Tree.

It looks great!! I found an oval shaped one like that at the thrift store and did the same thing. I love the ribbon you added...I didn't think of that!!

Love your blog! Found it quite by accident but your ideas are great :) I was wondering where you found the stand for the tray?

Emily, the stand is an old stand from Hobby Lobby. :)
