Saturday Feature-Twice As Nice 1/2 Off Special

Our favorite twins are having a sale on some cute vinyl!  These are perfect for your spring and summer plants.  Look how cute these plant, grow, bloom decals are.  They look great on these fun, colorful buckets but they would also look great on terracotta pots too.

You could even just use the words on your pots and use the cute pictures on something else.  Or just use the pictures.  There are so many things you could use these for.  ;)

These are featured on their blog, HERE.  For a limited time you can get all three decals for $6.00 with FREE shipping!   That is half off!  Thank you, Fern and Fran for this great deal!  Click HERE if you would like to purchase these.  Leave a comment on their post with your email address so they can get your info.

Thank you!

Picture Frames

First of all, is anyone else as excited about the royal wedding as I am?!  I have my DVR set to start recording at 3am.  I can't wait to see her dress!  However, I do not know what the people on TV will talk about when it is over.  I'm sure they will find something though.  :)

When I was in Little Rock my Mom and I went to a new Goodwill store.  I found this lamp and the duck picture.  Oh, I had big plans for that lamp!!  I primed it, spray painted it and then when I checked on it, the spray paint had literally cracked away from the lamp.  It looked like it had the crackle finish on it that used to be so popular.  It was so weird and something that had never happened before.  My Dad's verdict was the lamp had some kind of finish on it that the paint just simply did not stick to.  So it is now in the trash.  The lamp only cost $6.00 so it was worth the effort.

My Dad made me a frame for the giant picture we got from Westin's one year pictures.  He had some leftover molding so he made me a 16x24 frame for this picture:

We painted it with some leftover paint and we had a brand new, free frame!  Thank you, Dad!  I'm not sure this is the final resting place for the picture but this is where it is for now.  Cody likes it here but I'm not sure.  It is just sooo big!

I can't remember how much the duck picture cost, but I think it was $2.00.  I took the glass and picture out, painted it with the same leftover white paint.  Now I have a picture frame for Westin's 8x10 picture that we got.

Goodwill is my absolute favorite place to find picture frames.  They are so cheap and you can find many shapes and sizes.  Do not let the color of them turn you off.  Just look for the shape and size you need and you can paint them whatever color you want.  :)

Thank you!

Little Rock Fun

**Fair warning...this post has a million and one pictures.**

Here is a what our week in Little Rock looked like.  Cody and I call Westin, "our little flower child."  He loves being outside and can sit and study a leaf for forever.  We played ball outside every day it wasn't raining.

We took Westin to the park.  He went down a slide for the first time by himself.

He loved it.

Not the best picture of me, but I have to document Westin's first see-saw experience.

We took a day trip to Hot Springs to visit my grandparents.  We rode 4-wheelers for a couple of hours.

We took a 30 minute ride to a waterfall on their property.

I think it looks like he is sitting in front of a backdrop.  :)

We had to walk right past this bear den to get to the waterfall.  Thank goodness we didn't see any bears!  ;)

We had tornado warnings one night.

Westin loves snuggling with his 4 lovies and his Gran.

We also went to an egg drop.  A helicopter flew over and dropped 10,000 eggs into a field.  Westin got three.  :)

He was not interested in petting the baby duck.

I bet he climbed up and down these two stairs at least 200 times.

We had a great time spending time with my parents. We get spoiled with all the meals, play time and not having to do much of anything.  Thank you Gran and G-Daddy!

I did hit up a Goodwill and my Dad and I made a few things that I will be sharing with you soon!

Easter 2011

We had a wonderful Easter celebrating our Risen Savior and spending lots of time with family.  I spent the week at my parent's house before Cody joined us Easter weekend.  Westin was spoiled rotten and I will do a separate post re-capping our time in Little Rock.  This post has a lot of pictures so I'll mostly be sharing our Easter in pictures.  :)

Westin, Gran and I dyed some eggs.  Westin's balloon is never far away.  He wasn't very interested in the process once he realized he couldn't hold the eggs.  :)  I'm cracking up at the Diet Coke supply in the background.  Haha!  We love our Diet Coke!  Also, that was a great Goodwill lamp that I found and tried to paint but it was a big fat fail. I'll share more about that later.  :)

Our finished eggs.

My parent's church offered a Saturday night service that we went to.  It was amazing.  It was funny dressing up for Easter on Saturday night so I put Westin in his Easter outfit Sunday too.  :)

Westin's Easter bucket from us.

He got it Sunday morning and really didn't care for much of anything in it.  Haha

The balloon always has top priority.

He also got a basket from his Gran and G-daddy.

My grandparents also get everyone something too!

I'm so glad we do not have any stairs in our house because Westin climbed these about 100 times.

He even found some outside.

Time to hunt some Easter eggs!

Cousins!  Trying to get a decent picture of three boys, three years and under is no easy task.  The whole process is just hilarious and someone usually ends up getting hurt.  Haha!

I hope you had a wonderful Easter too!!

Saturday Feature-Studio JRU Discount Code

By now you probably have heard of Jennifer of Studio JRU.  If not, let me introduce you!  She makes amazing inspirational art and even has a line for Dayspring.  Her blocks are some of my favorite pieces and she has recently added some new ones to her shop!

I love having meaningful things sitting around the house reminding me of what I have to be thankful for.  Her blocks stand on their own and sealed with a varnish.  They are also 12" long so they are a good size and would make a great accent piece.

I love the colors of this block since I am really getting into blues and calming colors.

Isn't this one true for every single one of us.  What a great reminder on those days where I think I might pull my hair out.  ;)

Of course her crosses will always be a favorite too.  These are a great size too at 19" x 16".  I just love all of Jennifer's work!

Jennifer is offering 10% off your order until next Saturday.  Use the coupon code "spring11" to get the discount at checkout.  Click HERE to go to her shop where she has more than blocks and crosses.  Her prints have always been my favorite.  What is your favorite item?

Thank you!

The Winner and Tornado

The winner of the Stella & Dot earrings is
#50
Shutterhappyhope of Hope In A Jar!

Congratulations! Email me your address at row35401 at yahoo dot com and I will send your info to Danielle.
Thanks to everyone who entered and a big thank you to Danielle for offering a fantastic giveaway!

I have to share....while I was writing this post, the tornado sirens starting going off and the news station started calling the house (my mom is on a call list for when a tornado is in her zip code.) Of course my dad went outside (men!) to see what it was looking like but then came back in and said "get in the bathroom" so I went in Westin's room (my mom was rocking him to sleep) and said, "come on!"  Poor baby was practically asleep but enjoyed a little time in the bathtub with the flashlight.  :)

I hope everyone else is safe and sound!

Saturday Feature-Stella & Dot Giveaway

Happy Saturday!!  I'm in Little Rock having a great time with my parents and Westin is on his way to being 100% rotten.  He already had a good start but I think this week will put him over the edge.  :)  Oh well, that is what grandparents and great grandparents are for.  I'm just so thankful he has grands and greats to spoil him.

Today's sponsor feature is Danielle with Stella & Dot.  She is also offering a great giveaway!  Just like last week, I'm totally jealous of your chance to win!  ;)  I've pulled some of my favorite gold necklaces to show you and they would go great with the giveaway.

I love layering necklaces.  And like I've said before, necklaces and earrings are pretty much the only pieces of jewelry I wear.  (Except my wedding rings of course.) ;).
I love this Starry Night necklace.  This is right up my ally.  Small, delicate, gold but sparkly.  Love it!

I have been seeing these On The Mark necklaces popping up all over.  So simple and so cute!

If you don't want to layer necklaces, one of my favorite things to do is put several charms on one chain like the necklace above.  It shows so much personality.

For a chance to win these Bardot Hoop Earrings in your choice of gold or silver go visit Danielle's shop HERE and leave a comment telling me your favorite piece of jewelry AND if you would choose the earrings in gold or silver.

I think these are my favorite earrings Stella & Dot sells.  I'm completely jealous and might have to sneak my name in the drawing.  Haha!  Be sure to leave your email address if you do not have a blog.  Random.org will pick a winner Tuesday evening.  Good luck!  I hope you win!  ;)

Another Random Post

-My little turkey can do anything he sets his mind to.  He climbs on the fireplace hearth all the time.  He can't get down by himself yet so I attempted to block his way with all his toys.  Nope.  Didn't work.  I'm scared for when he is actually walking!  He is going to be a wild man.

-I know this is blurry but he is getting fast!  This is pretty much what I see all day long.  Toilet paper or a paper towel hanging out of his mouth while he crawls around and plays.  Oh my.

-I'm getting so excited about planting flowers this year!  I haven't done my big pots yet but I "make the rounds" every day and check on my plants and see what is starting to come back and what is getting ready to bloom.  I'm most excited about my hydrangeas, peonies and roses.  I also planted some gladiola bulbs for the first time so I'll keep you posted on how those go this summer.

-Did anyone grow some grass?  If so, how is it going?  I left town for a few days and and when I came back it had all fallen over. Haha!  You definitely have to tend to it and water it daily.  I will definitely do it next year though.

-I'm going to spend the week with my parents next week so my posts will be slim to none.  I'm going to get to catch up with some girl friends, spend a lot of time with my parents and grandparents and take Westin to a birthday party.  However, there is another sponsor giveaway this weekend!  Yay!

-I'm looking forward to Cody joining us next weekend for Easter and taking Westin to church for his "first" Easter.  He was only a few weeks old last year so we didn't go to church.  I'm also excited about his Easter outfit!  I can't wait to show you.  ;)

-Westin got upgraded to his big car seat today!  I took it to the police department to have it installed.  The two ladies who installed it were SO nice and so helpful.  Turns out one of them recognized Westin from Katie's blog!  Haha  Small world.  Hopefully he will like the 3 hour car ride tomorrow!  We kept it rear facing for several reasons.  1. He is still not 20 lbs. 2.  He doesn't know any different and it's safer. 3.  New government suggestions (not requirement).

I think he likes it!
