Please Pray

Sorry for the lack of posts lately.  My heart has been and is very heavy for our friends, Pat and Sarah Fries (pronounced "freeze" with an s instead of a z).  They were in our small group for about 4 years and Pat was our leader.  They have two beautiful children, Lynlee (4) and Owen (2).  Sarah was diagnosed with a brain tumor at the beginning of February.  Since then they have made several trips to M.D. Anderson in Houston and she has had surgery to remove all that they could.  Thankfully they got all but 5%.  This past weekend they learned it is a Grade III Anaplastic Astrocytoma.  She will begin a 6 week radiation regiment in Houston in a few weeks and chemo looks like a possibility too.  Will you join me in praying for this family?  We know our God is much bigger than a diagnosis and is the ultimate Healer. Pat has been updating their blog HERE if you want to follow along.

Thank you!

I can't even begin to imagine what they are going through. My little ones are exactly the same ages and I can barely breathe as I read their story. I can't imagine.

I'm so glad that you shared this. It's an honor to pray for a sister in Christ.

And to our God who is able to do so much more than we can even imagine...to Him who created the brain and placed these days in her life. To HIM we pray. So thankful for a God who knows.

Love,
Anna

I don't know the Fries, but we have several mutual friends and I have been praying for them. I was just talking to my friend Stacey about Sarah and heard the surgery went well. I'm praying this chemo and radiation do their job and she recovers 100%! Her kiddos need her!

I've been praying. Do you have a place we can send a card or are there things that Sarah likes that we could send for encouragement?

Thanks so much Shannon! I really appreciate all the prayers I can get and I really enjoyed reading all of your readers' sweet comments. It is really encouraging that people will lift me up in prayer without even knowing me.

Thank again.

Yes...will pray!

This is a long passage, but such a good reminder of God's faithfulness and miracle working!

Psalm 136:4-22 (The Message)
Thank the miracle-working God,
His love never quits.
The God whose skill formed the cosmos,
His love never quits.
The God who laid out earth on ocean foundations,
His love never quits.
The God who filled the skies with light,
His love never quits.
The sun to watch over the day,
His love never quits.
Moon and stars as guardians of the night,
His love never quits.
The God who struck down the Egyptian firstborn,
His love never quits.
And rescued Israel from Egypt's oppression,
His love never quits.
Took Israel in hand with his powerful hand,
His love never quits.
Split the Red Sea right in half,
His love never quits.
Led Israel right through the middle,
His love never quits.
Dumped Pharaoh and his army in the sea,
His love never quits.
The God who marched his people through the desert,
His love never quits.
Smashed huge kingdoms right and left,
His love never quits.
Struck down the famous kings,
His love never quits.
Struck Sihon the Amorite king,
His love never quits.
Struck Og the Bashanite king,
His love never quits.
Then distributed their land as booty,
His love never quits.
Handed the land over to Israel.
His love never quits.

So sorry to hear about your friend. Will say a prayer for her often. MD Anderson is a magical place where miracles can happen. Hoping she will be another one!

Many, many prayers are being lifted up for the entire family. My dad was diagnosed with the same tumor, only Stage 4. He was given no more than 6 months to live, and he is going on four years this month. Just a testament that God can truly work miracles, and I pray that He will touch this entire family, the doctors, and everyone involved.
