Newborn Pics Continued

There is not much going on around here except eating and sleeping for Westin. I'm still not able to lift over ten pounds because of a complication with my c-section incision so we have been stuck at the house. I can't wait until I can just throw his carseat in and out of the car and run the million errands that I need to. I've never wanted to go grocery shopping at Walmart so bad. Ha

Here are some more pictures that Rachel took that I just love. I'm so thankful we had these newborn pictures taken. He is already changing so much!

Newborn Pictures

Today is Westin's due date! I'm so glad he is already here! We just love him so much.

At 8 days old, Westin had his first photo shoot! He did such a good job. Poor baby let us pose him anyway we wanted. Rachel did an amazing job too! She had so many great ideas and worked so fast so we were able to get everything we wanted. Here are some pictures from her blog. When I get my CD of all the pictures I will post some more of my favorites.

You may remember this hat I bought here on etsy. We tried to re-create the pose and she got it!
He just looks like another toy in his bookcase. So tiny!
We placed his pillow on our bed.

She also got some great shots of the nursery. I'm so thankful for this because I always want to remember what it looked like.

More pictures to come! :)

More Westin Pics

I can't stop taking pictures of him. :) He makes so many faces that crack me up and melt my heart at the same time. I cannot get over how much he looks just like Cody! I wonder if I will ever see one of my features in him...

This duck outfit is one of the five newborn size outfits that he has. We have been doing a lot of laundry around here. We had to buy a few newborn PJ's after we got home and realized that he only had two that fit. As fast as he seems to be growing I bet he will be in his 0-3 month clothes soon.
He LOVES having his hair washed but he does not like getting a sponge bath. This boy likes to be warm and snuggly!
He is such a content baby. He usually only gets upset when we change his diaper. I could just kiss him, hold him and stare at him all day! I want to remember these sweet days. Our friend, Rachel took his newborn pictures when he was 8 days old. I will post some of my favorites soon!

Happy St. Pat's!

Very early on in my pregnancy I figured out what Westin's first holiday would be and just knew it would be Easter. I spent time looking for an Easter outfit (even though I knew we wouldn't be able to go out of the house since he would just be a few weeks old) and even looked for an Easter basket. I never dreamed his first holiday would be St. Patrick's Day. My mom ran out last night to buy this green outfit so he would have something to wear today. :) Happy St. Pat's!

Westin's Story

On Thursday, March 4th I went to a follow up appointment at my doctor's office. I had been showing signs of pre-eclampsia the previous Tuesday. Sure enough they decided I needed to be induced that day. We headed downstairs to the hospital, checked in and settled in for pitocin and an epidural. I got both the epidural and pitocin pretty fast and at 4:45 am I was dilated to a 4.5. They thought that was good and I would have a baby by noon on Friday. However, Westin decided to stay right where he was and at 10:30 am, Friday, I was still a 4.5. With my blood pressure being high and some blood work showing more pre-eclampsia signs we decided a c-section was a good choice. Westin was born at 11:33 am on Friday, March 5th. He was 5lbs 14 oz and 19 and a half inches long. He was perfect!

I guess my body did not believe I not pregnant anymore because I continued to show pre-elampsia symptoms for the next 3 days. I was on magnesium for 24 hours so I was not allowed to get out of bed. Because of that, my healing has been very delayed. I don't have a very good memory of what happened those 5 days. We were able to come home late Monday afternoon. I'm very sore, still have blurry vision, elevated blood pressure and get dizzy at times but I am loving every second I spend with Westin. We are so thankful for him and love him so much! He is a champ at eating and sleeping so far so we hope it stays that way. ;) Here are some pictures of our boy.

First ride in the car seat on the way home.

The fun bow my mom gave us to put on our hospital door and now it is on our house door.
Of course I had to put him in his cradle right away.

Our first outing to his first Dr.'s appointment.

Snuggling with him.

He really wanted to make sure his paci did not fall out.

Cody loves swaddling him and Westin loves being swaddled.

Pretty blue eyes. (Taken with my iPhone)

Thank you all for all your SWEET comments! It has been so fun sharing this pregnancy with you! I love that you want to see pictures of him. :) Hopefully I will start feeling better and get back into blogging. Right now, I'm going to take a "maternity leave" for a week or two. :)

37 Weeks and Completed Nursery

***Unbelievable amount of pictures coming up!!!***

Here I am at 37 weeks and counting! I'm now considered full term. I cannot believe how fast this pregnancy has gone! It has been so fun sharing it with all of you too. :)

I wanted to give you a little nursery tour. I know you have seen most of these pictures but now that we officially have everything we need and are just waiting for Westin to get here I wanted to post the completed nursery.

Walking in...

Crib ready and waiting.

His hamper.
Glider and side table. The door to the left is his bathroom. I didn't do anything different in there since it is already in chocolate brown.

His cabinet with all his blankets, clothes, bibs, etc...

His cute name plaque that Katie had made.

Cody's coming home outfit.
His closet with the diaper bag ready to go.

My Dad built these shelves in his closet to better utilize the space. He also put in an outlet so I can have a lamp in there.
We are keeping his changing table in the closet because there is not any room in his room. :)

I put some left over fabric in a frame that I already had and I'll put a picture of Westin in it soon. He also has a chocolate brown changing pad cover. I think it was in the washing machine when I took this picture.

I'm not hanging any clothes in here right now while we use the changing table but I couldn't help but hang his sweet church outfits and his Easter outfit. :)

I hope you enjoyed the tour! :) We are officially ready and waiting!

Fam Night Celebrations

Every Tuesday night we get together with my brother Andrew, my brother and SIL, Jason and Katie and Joseph and Elizabeth who are just like family. We rotate houses each week and eat dinner and usually watch American Idol or Survivor. Sometimes we just talk so much we don't watch TV. This past Tuesday we celebrated Elizabeth and Joseph's birthdays.

I just love any excuse to bring out the birthday decorations!

I love my little cake man by Larkspur Lane.

They both turned 25!

Singing Happy Birthday.

Joseph loved his Oreos and milk from Elizabeth. His "real" present was a trip to NYC!

Elizabeth with her gifts.

Zach loves to "fall down" and then make sure everyone saw him! :)

It got kind of quiet so I peaked in the nursery and saw that Zach had found Westin's books and toys. :)

Zach, Cody, Katie and Andrew watching American Idol. I look forward to Family Night every week. I'm so glad we all live in the same town so we can get together!
