Photo Shoot

Okay, y'all have convinced me to go to his 2 month appointment. :) Cody is going to go with me though for support. Now, y'all have scared me for his future shots since you said the 2 month shots are the easiest!! Hahaha I'll worry about that later...

I thought Westin was looking pretty cute in this blue and white outfit today so I propped him up in his chair and took some pictures.

It still takes some work to get a smile but he is getting there. He usually just looks at me like I have lost my mind.

This next picture just makes me laugh. Westin usually falls asleep in his bouncer in the bathroom while I'm taking a shower. I guess Cody thought he shouldn't be back there all alone where we couldn't see him because this is what I found when I went in the bathroom later:

Cody had set the video monitor up on a box of panty liners. I went in the living room and he was watching TV with the monitor beside him on the table. I thought that was hilarious (and sweet) but seriously, our house isn't that big! We would be able to hear him if he wiggled his toe. :)

Playing Catch Up

First of all, y'all are so sweet to keep coming here and commenting. It is so hard to find the time to blog and read blogs. I do most of my reading on my phone while I'm nursing Westin. :) How do you moms do it? Anyway, here is what we have been up to the past couple of weeks. I'll try to get better at keeping this blog current. :)

Cody turned 31!
Cody's mom brought some baby pictures of Cody and I was shocked how much Westin looks like him! I always thought he resembled him but this is just crazy! Here is Cody at 6 weeks, the same age that Westin was in these pictures. Cody:
Westin just loves his changing table. He always has. It makes for some cute pictures. :)
Family picture on Cody's birthday.
Last Friday, Westin turned 6 weeks! He also started smiling some. We still have to work at getting a smile but it is worth it. He also started sleeping longer stretches at night. He now sleeps 6-7 hours before he his ready to eat again. Yay!
The day he turned 6 weeks we loaded the car and headed to Little Rock to see my parents and my grandparents.

He got a lot of lovin' from his grandparents and his great grandparents, GiGi and Papa.
It looks like he is saying, "Who me?" :)
I love his plaid shorts. :)
He has also started noticing his toys more this week.

He has really come to love bath time too. I am so glad! After his first couple of baths when he screamed so hard I told Cody we were done with baths. ;) I sucked it up and tried again a few days later and he loved it. We look forward to it now.

Although he loves looking at his toys, nothing beats the fan. He can spot it right away in any room. I can make all the noises I know how to make to get him to look at me but he just can't tear his eyes away from the fan.

His two month appointment is coming up in a couple of weeks and I've already started asking Cody if he will take him. I have been dreading it since the day he was born. I actually tear up when I think about him getting shots! Ha! Maybe I can plan it where Cody takes him to all his check-ups where he gets shots. ;)

Westin's Bathroom

I didn't change anything in the bathroom in Westin's room because it was already in browns and coordinated with his nursery. I did want to personalize it a little bit though so I bought some frames from Hob Lob to put his pictures in. I bought the same open back frame (different size) that I framed Cody's going home outfit in. They were a little too stark white so I put a brown glaze (watered down acrylic paint) on it and wiped it off with a paper towel.

The frames are 8x10 and his pictures are 5x7 so I knew I needed a mat. I also needed glass since it was an open back frame. However, the glass was going to be $7 each so I asked if they had cheaper options and she showed me this plastic. You cannot even tell it is plastic and it even comes with a cardboard backing to put in your frame. Plus it was only two dollars.

I put it all together and then taped down the back with painters tape. I love using the tape for things like this because it is easily changeable.
It is really hard to get a picture in his bathroom but I did the best I could. :)

After I hung them, Cody informed me that I framed the same picture that was used on his announcement. :) Sooooo, I'll be changing that soon. Not sure what I was thinking. Ha

This was so simple and so cheap. My kind of project!

P.S. Ali, I know you have asked me to come to your blog and asked about the nursery paint color but I can't get to your page. Everytime I click on your name it says Profile Not Available. So leave me your blog address in the comments if you can. Thanks!

Signs of Baby

This little guy has changed our life and we couldn't be happier! (I love how he holds his hands while he eats or sleeps.)

He has also changed the way we live. We both lean towards perfectionism in our home so who would have thought we would have a baby swing in the dining room.

Or a play gym in the middle of our living room...

Or Gripe Water on our sink waiting for the next time we need it.

Pacifiers show up in random places mixed in with the decor. (Yes, the monitor is pink but it was mis-marked so we got it for a steal!)

One of my favorite changes are the tiny clothes and especially the tiny socks that are in the laundry now.

I absolutely love all the changes he has brought in our life. I wouldn't have it any other way!

Blessing Ring

Katie introduced me to Blessing Rings when I was getting married almost six years ago. She bought me one to keep all my cards and special notes that were given to me during my engagement. Instead of buying one when Zach was born she made one. So I made one for Westin.

I will keep all of his cards that he receives his first year of life. He has already received two Easter cards from his grandparents that are on the Blessing Ring.

Here is Katie's Blessing Ring that she has made for Reese:

This is Adeline's Blessing Ring that Lindsey made:

These are so easy to make! The rings are actually necklaces from the jewelry department at Hob Lob. Tie some ribbon on it and you are finished! When you receive a special card or note punch a hole in it and put it on the ring. These make such great visual reminders of how much you (or your child) are loved. They also make great gifts. :)

Birth Announcement

Way back in November I won a giveaway over at The Vintage Moth. It was for a birth announcement from Sarah's shop, Designs by Haven. She was so nice to let me wait until March to pick one out. She was wonderful to work with and even offered to order them for me and have them shipped to my house since I can't drive. Everything in her shop can be customized with different colors and fonts! It could not have been easier. Thank you so much Sarah! I love them!

He Has Risen!

Luke 24:2-3

They found the stone rolled away from the tomb, but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. 5b "Why do you look for the living among the dead? 6 He is not here; he has risen!"

One Month

Yesterday Westin was one month! I cannot believe it. Here is what he has been up to:
-He loves his vibrating chair and play mat.
-Eating every 2.5-3 hours during the day and 4-5 hours during the night.
-He has slept the last two nights in his crib (he was in our room) and did great! I stared at the video monitor all night but at least he slept great. :)
-He is still wearing newborn clothes but sometimes I put him in 0-3 month because I get tired of seeing the same 5-6 outfits. :)
-We tried a bottle last night in celebration of his one month birthday and he did wonderful. He had bug eyes the whole time like he was thinking, "this is great!". It was hilarious. He went back to nursing after that like nothing had ever happened. I don't think we will have any bottle/nursing confusion. :)

Next week I will show you some projects I have been working on!
