Bedroom Corner and 35 Weeks

I wanted to have a chair in our room beside the cradle for feedings and just a place to sit and hold Westin. My Grandmother gave me this chair when I was in college and I cannot believe I did not take a before picture! It was cream with gold splattered paint and the cushions were hunter green. Before the green cushions they were gold velvet. :) I spray painted the chair Heirloom White and had it professionally re-upholstered.

I think the man who re-upholstered it thought I was crazy for spray painting a chair and then having it professionally re-upholstered. Ha! Normally I would try to re-upholster it myself but it was only $75.00 and saved me a big headache I'm sure. :)

Now I have a comfy place to hold Westin in our room that is close to his cradle.

Here is my 35 week shot. I was headed to bed so that is why it is a little rough looking. :) No one tells you that you are pregnant in your face too. :)

Here is my "before" picture at about 7 weeks. I cannot imagine looking like this again! Ha! Please tell me my face and swollen feet will go back to normal!

I just started reading your blog and came from Katie's blog.. aww you are beautiful! I dunno about your face going back b/c I still feel like i have "preggo face" and my daughter is 8 months old but i had chipmunk cheeks before, but not a double chin :( I hope yours goes back! YOu are gorgeous though and think how much more beautiful you will be holding Westin!

Shannon, you look so beautiful! And so comfy cozy for bed. The chair is perfect! I too would have spent the money to have it reupholstered - I have little clue how to do it and I wouldn't want to anyways at 35 weeks! The spot you created is just sweet and perfect!

Your chair looks great, and so do you. 35 weeks! Wow! You're in the home stretch!

Don't worry: you'll get all your girlish features back, including your feet and face. And believe me, it feels good to put your regular clothes back on. :)

I love what you did with that chair! You look great and not that different from the before pic (other than the bump, of course!)

You look great - healthy and glowing! I know all of our bodies are different but I like my body WAY better after two pregnancies. So YES the swelling in our faces and feet go away I promise. Lovely chair.

I lost the weight in a jiffy with the first, like 35 pounds in the first week because of all the water weight. You will be fine, better than fine and you are just adorable!!!!!

Girl, love the chair and BOTH pictures of you are precious. You even had great boobs when you were seven weeks prego. Jealous!

You look cute!

Your chair turned out beautiful. You'll be glad you have it! I have thought about learning to re-upholster a chair that I have but maybe I should just pay for it and get it over with.

You are crazy, your face has not even changed! The only change is that cute pregnant belly. I feel your pain with the swollen feet!

You will be so glad to have a chair in there. Our bed was surprisingly uncomfortable for holding and nursing. Also, take it from someone who weighed OVER 200 lbs. when I delivered Spencer (yes, I promise--I stopped weighing a week or so before because it had gotten absurd!) you will get back to yourself. I haven't really tried (except for eating fairly healthily), and I'm almost back to where I started. It wasn't that important to me to get back to my exact weight, but it WAS important to me to lose most of the 70 or so pounds I gained, and it came off no problem. It's so crazy....

You get the naughty blogger award for not taking a before picture of the chair, LOL! It looks gorgeous now.

You are so cute! Enjoy your pregnancy and don't worry about the weight.

I think you look great for 35 wks, and don't worry, it all goes back. Just know that there is a chance you may get more swollen for a bit after he is born.

The chair looks great!

Katy said...

Everything will go away for sure, now I'm not saying you'll be TOTALLY back to normal (cause I don't wanna lie).....but your swelling WILL go down. It's funny too, b/c when you leave the hospital you'll feel so much skinnier. (well, at least I always did)

Really like the chair in the corner...you need a little stool beneath it for your feet. I ALWAYS liked nursing/feeding the babies in the middle of the night with something to prop my feet up on. :)......and a little side table next to that chair and the one in Westin's room.
It always seemed like I needed a table next to me for, nipple creams, chapsticks, water, or whatever. You will want SOOOOOOO much water (if you are breast feeding), I could never get enough.

Lol, yes, they go back! You look great!

Love the chair!

You look precious!! I was pregnant all over...from my face to my feet. My foot size went up one size and has since shrunk only a 1/2 size. I'm praying they continue to shrink to my pre-pregnancy size or I have a LOAD of shoes that I can no longer wear!

You are so close to having that precious baby boy. :)

I gained a lot more weight with my son than with my daughters. It too goes away after the birth. My goodness, you're so busy those first few months you almost forget to eat!
The nursery is just beautiful and so are you.

You look great! I would say not to have big expectations of losing all the weight quickly but then again, all mommies are different. I've had girlfriends who the weight just fell off after the baby (I dislike those people! haha) My little one is going to be six months Monday and I still have a ways to go. My face is finally back to normal somewhat and so are my feet (even though I did grow a shoe size during pregnancy). Just try to have realistic expectations about the weight (which is not easy to do when you have post pardum hormones!). But once you hold that baby, the weight won't matter at all to you! You'll be so in love that nothing like that matters anymore! I'm so excited for you!

I love the chair! And yes, I'm ceratain you'll shrink back to your former self...but you look darling as is!!

Stacey @ The Blessed Nest said...

The new chair looks beautiful! That whole corner is adorable, love the letter over the picture. And let me just say, as a former very chipmunk-cheeked pregnant woman, YES the "roundness" will go away! It takes 9months to fill out, give yourself at least that long to have it reverse! LOL!! But you look gorgeous & I don't see a hint of roundness to you except that cute baby!
Blessings,
Stacey

You look so good! Your face looks the same to me in both pictures if that's any encouragement! I know how you feel though...Yes - all goes back to normal! My daughter is 9 weeks and I'm fitting back into some of my pre-baby pants...(not well or anything!! haha.) Getting there! It was amazing to me that right after you have your baby, your stomach flops down again! Immediate relief from all the pressure and swelling! :)

You'll get back to normal. i looked like a stuffed pig with my first babe! The nursery looks great!

I have a question. I have a couple of chairs that I want to spray paint and have professionally reupholstred. How did you do it? Did you just tape off the fabric or not worry about it and spray right over it? Or rip is off a bit? Thanks for your help! by the way, we're having another one in July, too!
