Re-arranging Again

Getting ready for a baby is a lot of work that involves a lot of re-arranging and re-purposing! :) This little corner of our room used to hold a leather chair and ottoman. When we bought the cradle we had to find a new place for the chair.

I don't think I ever showed you the bumpers I had made for the cradle. The same lady who made his crib bedding made these out of an antique coverlet that I had. He gets all white bedding in our room to match our all white bedding. :) As a bonus I just used something I already had so I didn't have to buy any more fabric!

So where did the leather chair go? Here is an old before picture of our living room:

Here is the after:

We took the tree out and put the chair in the same corner. I have loved having the extra seating
in here.
This little re-do project has nothing to do with a baby coming but I thought I would show you anyway. Cody accidentally knocked the white platter off the wall awhile back so I had to find something else to hang under the green one.

I used some green ribbon that I already had and hung this little silver tray chalkboard. I'm not even mad at Cody because I think I like this look so much better! :)

Everything looks so great!
I like the chair in its new spot, you can never have too much seating--you will be having lots of visitors soon to see that cute little guy and they will need someplace to sit!

Hi Shannon, I've been following you for a few months, I think via Katie's blog. So excited for you guys and your first little one! One question for you: we are looking for a media console and I've found it hard to find one that covers up the t.v. I see that yours does! would you mind letting me know where yours is from and/or brand name? Thanks so much!

I really like that chair in the corner... makes the house look even more warm... as if your awesome house could even get more warm and inviting.

I think I like the new chalk plate better than the other too.

Everything looks great! You have such a knack for decorating! Where did you find your silver platters? I want to find a few to paint with chalkboard paint but I don't want to spend a lot of $$. How much $$ would you say is a good deal for one of those platters?

Love the redos Shannon! The cradle is adorable. We had one for my second son. He slept in it a handful of times but not as much as I had hoped. He actually preferred being in the regular crib. He was not into sleeping with us and now at 4 I can't keep him out of our bed.

Shannon - I've followed your blog for a while and during the summer when I was really nesting with baby #4, I decided I wanted to re-do something in my laundry room. I remembered seeing a blog at some point that had their detergent in a jar and these cute plates handing from the wall. I couldn't remember for the life of me where I had seen the photo, or I would have given you credit on the post (I blame it all on pregnancy brain!). i had to laugh when I looked today and saw this! I actually commented out loud, "there it is!" Anyway, thanks for the idea! You've got lots of great one!

P.S. Your nursery looks beautiful! You did a fabulous job on the curtains! Gotta love those glue guns! I did that on our bedskirt and no one can even tell! I'm sewing machine challenged!

I love the wall hangings in the laundry. Just wondered how you attached the ribbon to the blackboard? I have tried glue gunning mine but it keeps falling off the wall:)
