Thanksgiving Decorations

I took down all of my fall decorations to put out my Thanksgiving ones. I know these are the same type of decorations but it makes me feel better to pack up 8 totes of fall and get just one Thanksgiving one. This way I feel like there is more of a break between Fall and Christmas decorations. Plus I only have one box to put away before I get all the Christmas boxes down. :)

I got this "Thankful" sign at War Eagle (the local craft fairs) this year.
I also got this basket at War Eagle. I put an old Revival Praises hymnal in it. It looks "Thanksgiving-y" because it has a picture of wheat on it. ;)

My Grandmother bought me these pilgrims last year. I love them!

Does anyone else decorate for Thanksgiving? Sometimes I feel like it is a holiday that is often skipped over. I love Thanksgiving and everything it represents. Even though these decorations will probably be taken down before Thanksgiving (I put my Christmas decor out the weekend before Thanksgiving) I still get to enjoy them for several weeks.

I love the praises book in the basket... I have so many older small hymnals like that and I would have never thought of displaying them like this!! Thanks for the idea :-)

I do decorate for fall in general.. this year I bought a turkey tea towel for my kitchen display. You can see it here: http://www.mikeandsallie.com/sallie/index.blog/1388518/creating-vignettes-in-your-decor/

Have a blessed weekend!!

Beautiful stuff, Shannon. Love the sign. We have a few things we pull out for Thanksgiving but usually just leave out the pumpkins & fall foliage & just pack up the Halloween. November's big in our house - both kids have birthdays on the 27th & 29th so they prefer balloons & banners.

Cute stuff Shannon! Yes I decorate for Thanksgiving too! I love the holiday and it does seem to get overlooked. I am thankful for your blog!

I decorate for fall in general but I am so ready to put up my Christmas stuff! Last year I didn't decorate until mid December and hardly got to enjoy it. This year my goal is Thanksgiving weekend!

PS- Congrats on getting halfway! Doesn't it feel great?

Cute as usual! I take down the spook, turn around the jacks, and put out a few turkeys to get me through to Christmas. I wish I could decorate the weekend before but I host thanksgiving here and like to keep that decor up until after that. Have a great weekend!

I love your decorations, as usual :) I have lots of Fall decorations that I keep up through out the season. But, have found several cute things incorporating " Giving Thanks " on them. Thanksgiving does kind of get the shaft each year :)
You look so cute in your preggo picture! Your half way to meeting your little angel :)

Your house looks so great! My mom used to have a craft stand at War Eagle when me & my sister were little. Now, she has been teaching for years, but I remember going to War Eagle & seeing all the crafts! I think I'm going to get my Christmas decorations out this weekend. I just can't wait any longer. I didn't get to put them up last year, so I'm making up for it this year!

Its so great how you decorate for all the seasons!! I wish I was that ambitious!! I did a little bit this year for Halloween and I usually do way too much for Christmas!!! Its my favorite!!

Love it all!!!!! You always do such a great job!

I LOVE Thanksgiving, but I will admit, it gets ran over by Christmas at my house! I too, decorate for Christmas the weekend before T'giving.

I tend to skip Halloween and go straight to fall/Thanksgiving in October...that way I can enjoy it longer before Christmas decor is out. :)

I'm going to have to hit up War Eagle next year...have always wanted to go!

Thanksgiving is my favorite. I only add a few things to my decorations that are already out ... a turkey platter made out of my children's handprints and wood pilgrims my Mom bought me.

Looks lovely. I love that Thanksgiving sign.

Oh Shannon it all looks so lovely! I like that sign, the gingham ribbon and the pedestal candle holder. I was reading through your blog last night and that OOPS store seems like so much fun.. really wish we had a place like that in the Chicago 'burbs. It made me think of a similar store we have(but no where as near as cool) called Tuesday Morning and I'm inspired now to stop in. Have a nice weekend! :o)

Thanks for stopping by Shannon...so sweet of you.

I feel the same way...Thanksgiving I think is often looked over which I hate because we have so much to be thankful in this life. I love all your decor!

It makes me happy that you decorate for Thanksgiving. It's my favorite holiday! My husband and I are in our first apartment so we're just starting our holiday decoration collection. We got married in July and I can't wait to get our first Christmas tree together!

I love how you decorate your house for every occasion!
In Malta we do not have thanksgiving holiday. We do not even celebrate halloween greatly the way you do. So for me it's so nice to see you change so many decorations. Keep it up :)

I love your Thanksgiving decor! Especially the cute little towels you put on your stove.

I also think Thanksgiving is looked over most of the time. What a shame. It's a great holiday.

Very Pretty! I really enjoy Fall decor. YES! Thanksgiving is skipped over. Seems like we go from Halloween straight to Christmas.

Your decorations are so sweet and make your home so loving and warm. I like that about decorations-- they're like the icing on the cake :)

I, too, decorate for Thanksgiving. I actually decorate a little tree with autum goodies and tiny pilgrims and indians.

I enjoy your blog-- so creative!

You are very organized. I feel proud of myself to have one season to decorate for: Christmas. I admire your decorating skills.
The basket with hymnal is very sweet.
I have a pretty angel made out of a hymnal. Now you inspire me to take a photo of it for my blog.

Oooh! Reading this post made me miss War Eagle! That was my favorite craft fair when I lived in your area!

Your decorations are beautiful - I really should start decorating for Thanksgiving!

Hi Shannon,
All your decorations look great placed around your house. I put a few Thanksgiving things out but mostly it's Fall things that can be out for a few months.
Enjoy your week!

Donna said...

Like many others, I, too, put out a lot of fall stuff, and then just add some Thanksgiving decor at the beginning of November. Thanks for stopping by the other day. You're sweet.
Hope you have a great week...your decorations are beautiful! (As always!)

I love to decorate for Thanksgiving. I too feel the holidays go from Halloween to Christmas. I love your decorations. I too have some turkey plates.

I'm with you! I wrote a post about my holiday decorating, stating that I also like to decorate for Thanksgiving. I've never done what you do, though--I just put away the jack-o-lanterns and leave out the other fall stuff to mix in with my Thanksgiving things. Hmmm...maybe I should try it your way next year!

I LOVE that little hymnal! Singing hymns is one of my all-time favorite activities. I don't usually need a hymnal for the words, because I learned all the verses to so many songs when I was a child. But I like to have the hymnal so that I can sing the alto line. I grew up singing the soprano line, but I do so love to sing harmony. Mostly I do it by ear, but it's so much easier if you have the music to follow.

Have a great day!

I do, I do! Although I've been real bad about taking pics and getting them on my blog :( Maybe this week! LOVE the basket and hymnal combo - totally stealing that :)

I definitely decorate for Thanksgiving! I LOVE the warm rich colors...the pilgrims remind me of a pair I had years ago. Love the rustic sign on your table too!

ps...gift coming soon:)

Your Thanksgiving Decorations are so warm and inviting! Your home is lovely:) Thanks for sharing! I hope your feeling well and enjoying your pregnancy:) Have a great day!

I usually just leave my fall decorations out until I decorate for Christmas. I don't decorate for Halloween, in large part so that I can leave out all of my fall decor until Thanksgiving! I would love to get some Thanksgiving items to mix in after Halloween though. I really like your turkey plate and your new Thanksgiving sign! I recently bought a similar style plate in blue and white with a winter home scene that I am excited to put out for Christmas.
