Christmas Tree

Did everyone have a good Thanksgiving? Ours was great except Cody was sick but he is feeling better now. I think this is the first year in our 5 year marriage that I did not have the tree up before Thanksgiving. It is such a weird feeling for me to not be motivated but I guess it is this pregnancy. It is the only thing I can think of. Also, I have been working so hard at cleaning the house out and re-purposing rooms that it was hard for me to bring out the seasonal decorations. :)

I knew we couldn't go without a tree (although I seriously considered it-crazy I know!) so we finally put it up yesterday. I think with all of our breaks it took all day! Ha! I haven't done the mantle but as of today I plan on doing it. We will see what tomorrow brings. :)

I've always done reds, lime greens and golds. I don't think I added anything new to the tree this year. Our yearly ornaments will go on a separate tree once we have more than five ornaments. :) For the topper I just stick feathers and a few sparkly picks in the top. Cody always says it looks like an alien landed on top.

I love this green wire mesh stuff that you can wrap around the tree. I bought this the first year we were married but now they have some that is much brighter and easier to work with. I may have to get some of that next year because mine is literally wire that could cut you. :)

These are some of my favorite ornaments. I found the red and green ones a couple of years ago at Lowe's of all places. They have some great after Christmas sales on their seasonal decorations. I'll be posting more pictures soon!

Your tree looks gorgeous - I love the top. I'm finally going to put my tree up this week. I usually have mine up for Thanksgiving also. I'm sorta stumped for what I'm going to do this year since Amelia is, well, let's just say "curious" these days, and Jack Jack is crawling. I had several glass balls break last year, and the majority of my ornaments are either glass balls or some other breakable. I've got to do something baby friendly. Law, I'll be lucky if the tree only falls over once. ;o)

Your tree is beautiful!!!! I love the topper!!! I do the same thing...red, gree and gold. I am pretty traditional with my decor for the holidays. I have had mine up for over a week now, but just turned the lights on Saturday afternoon!!

I soo want to use feathers in my tree this year! I totally understand about not wanting to bring everything out and decorate. My husband and I are in the process of moving at the beginning of the year and half our home is in boxes, but I still busted out the Christmas decorations, I just had too with a one year old and with it being our last Christmas in our home!

You aren't the only one that can't find motivation. My tree has been up since BEFORE Thanksgiving but with lights only! HA! Every time I stop to get stuff out, Amelia wants to spend time with her Mommy and we both know what takes priority there. :)

Your tree looks gorgeous!!

Very pretty! My tree is up but not decorated. I am in a major cleaning out mood and I have been getting rid of all sorts of stuff.

We did no tree one year and Aaron's first year with us we did a tiny tree decorated with my frogs.

Looks great...we did not do much this year as well...especially since we are in Cali for most the month.

Beautiful, as always! I seriously considered no trees the year I was pregnant too. But I knew I would be too sad if we didn't at least have one. So, that is all we did that year too. Let me tell ya, I was so excited to get them all out the next year. I was even more excited this year, I think because Rhett is at a fun age. I did all of them in 1 day! I think it is a record for me!

I remember this time last year when I was pregnant with Anna Claire--it was all I could do to muster up enough strength to do anything! The tree looks beautiful and I remember the topper from last year--it's so cute and clever...and pretty!

I remember seeing feathers at the tops of some trees last year. That was a first for me.

I don't DO my tree this early - - - I did put out the wreaths on the front of the house yesterday, and that's an all time early start!!!

I like to keep stuff up until AFTER New Year - - - - so the whole two weeks out of school feels celebrational.

Your tree is very pretty! I love the feather topper - so classy! I understand how unmotivated one can feel with pregnancy. To be honest, I'm just now getting into the holiday decorating thing now that my kids are 3 and 4.. I've been exhausted for the past couple years taking care of two that are 15 months apart. I look forward to seeing more. :o)

Your tree is so pretty! I was pregnant last Christmas and definitely had a hard time getting motivated. This Christmas, with a little one of my own, I am definitely in the Christmas spirit! It's amazing what a new little one will do for your holiday spirit:)

I dont have mine up yet. I really am not into it this year - I think I am burnt out on Christmas as society celebrates. And my pumpkins are still looking great, so I have just delayed.

Your tree looks great. I think we may do it this weekend - my 3 and 7 year olds keep asking! :)

Your tree is beautiful! I hope to have ours up later this week. Feel free to give yourself the freedom to decorate less this year. (I know it is sometimes easier said than done).

We are planning to have a family tree too and have been collecting ornaments for our last 2.5 years of marriage, but like you, right now we only have about 5 ornaments. :) Eventually I want to put a family tree down in our family room. I think this year I might get a small counter tree for our kitchen island and put our few family ornaments on it for this year! How fun for you to think that this time next year you'll be celebrating the holidays with your little man and there will presents with his name under your tree!
