Here is a little sneak peak of a chalkboard paint project that I am working on:
I am also working on a really big backyard project. I am really getting into landscaping and plants! Cody always says that I like plants but not the work it involves in having them. He is kind of right...I like having them and watering them, I just don't like digging the hole for them, keeping the weeds out of the beds, or the bugs they attract. :)

Oh no what are you into now, can't wait to see.
I'm the same way about the yard,LOL

I love how the black foes so well with the plate and furniture piece!
I also love the labels on the little tubs!!!
I do hope the chalkboard paint on the little tubs works! I have so many storage tubs and that would be so handy to be able to change the labels so quickly!
By the way, thanks for posting about the Oops store. I went through AR over a week ago and stopped at one. Got a lot of little gifts for my gift box.
That tray with the mother of pearl is beautiful!
You've given me a great idea with painting the chalkboard lables on holiday bins...I SO need to do that!

Enjoy your plants--it's quite rewarding!
I've missed seeing your projects and fun decorating ideas! Hope you are enjoying your summer.
I have really gotten into landscaping, but my husband says the same thing about me. Bless his heart, he digs the holes for me when I plant new flowers! He is so good to me!
ooooo..good call on the plastic tubs. will definitely be copying that idea. and can you tell me what color your living room is? i love the more yellow undertone (at least that it looks by your lamp) with still being a neutral.
Love chalk board paint!!! I have pretty much run out of ideas for it. I can't wait to see what your doing with it and those containers!!
Your Mom's platters turned out so cute.
Looks like you are getting organized. Are those little containers I see. Can't wait to see where you got them and what you're using them for.
I love the chalkboard plate - never thought of using it on bins! Love that idea.
Those plates came out awesome! Can't wait to see your finished projects!
You have me intrigued with the chalkboard paint on the rubbermaid bins. :)

If you dont mind me asking, what kind of project are you working on? That looks like something we can maybe use in out Sunday Scool Dept at church.
THanks
Robin
love the platters!! i have bought 3 @ Goodwill and now I've just gotta to paint them. Do you just hot glue ribbon to the back when you hang them on the wall?
I can't wait to try a chalk paint project. : )
I love plants and flowers, but not the maintenance. I'm a plant killer. : (
Have fun with your projects. I always look so forward to seeing new posts from you.
Can't wait to see your finished chalkbaord paint projects! And your backyard ones!! You've got me on pins and needles!
I really like the chalk paint on a silver tray. Never would of thought about that one. An old, tarnished tray becomes useful again.
Thanks for stopping by my blog today.
Love the trays! Super cute!
I am the same way about the yard, except sometimes I don't even like the watering part :) Oh, and Happy Birthday!
I love chalkboard paint! Can't wait to see your finished projects!
Yeah, gardening is kind of a pain in the butt, but remember this...it's a great calorie burner! :D And the rewards you reap from it outweigh the pain of taking care of it. Can't wait to see!
Robyn, the bins will be used as storage in our garage.
chalkboard paint rocks!! :)
Happy birthday, Shannon!
I love the idea of a silver platter that you can personalize with chalkboard paint, so, I decided to try it myself! One question: where did you get all of your hangers to hang the finished pieces? I want to display mine with a ribbon, similar to one of yours, but will also need the little support hooks that you have yours mounted with. Any suggestions on where to find these? Thanks! -Ashley in VA :)
Just getting ready to put my post up about my chalkboard paint love. I have seen the containers done, and they are ADORABLE! Can't wait to see your finished project.;)
What a GREAT idea for the huge bins!!!
Looks like some fun! I bet they are going to come out soooo cute~
Can't wait to see what you're up to! I love the silver platters!
Those are some neat projects. I love plants too, but not the planting (unless in pots) or the weeding. I'm with you on this one!!!!
Your mom's projects are sweet. I think I can tell what you're up to with those blue containers...fun idea girl!
Planting, Plants, being outside......i love it all, don't really even mind the weeding aspect.
Hello Shannon - love your mom's chalkboard platters! So cute. And the tubs you're painting look like they're going to make your life so much easier - can't wait to see how they turn out!
Blessings,

Happy Birthday! Sorry this is so late, but I'm just now slowing down from the fun-filled day Lynlee Kate and I had! Hope you had a great one!
When you finish landscaping your yard, will you drive the 4 hours to my house and do mine? : )
I am totally with you on the yard work deal. Love those silver tray chalkboards! I have several I am going to do, just haven't got around to it yet.
Love your silver trays! The labels for the tubs is truly a stroke of brilliance! = )
So much fun! I can't wait to see the yard! And where can I get some of this chalkboard paint? I got some spray paint from Hobby Lobby but that doesn't seem to be doing the trick.
I just bought my first tray...and am ready to try my first chalkboard project - all your inspiration! Can't wait....
Good idea with the chalkboard paint and tubs! I've been trying to think of a way to put labels on mine.
Oh gosh girl, I can't wait to see the project you are working on. It looks like a good one!
Your mom's trays turned out wonderful!

Chalkboard paint always makes things better.
Can't wait to see what else you are up to.
Love, love, love chalkboard paint! Great projects.
Great chalkboards and looking forward to seeing the backyard project. Jackie
Love chalkboard paint. I saw the coolest thing on Martha Stewart. COLORED chalkboard paint. just take 1 cup flat latex paint and add 2 T of of unsanded tile grout. Instant chalkboard paint any ol' color you like.
I too, love chalkboard paint. Have you seen the new or new to me chalkboard markers? Here is a link:

They apparently don't smudge and have a much nicer finish.
Cute trays! Can't wait to see your finished bins!
The platters are so cute! I hope you're having a great summer!
AHHH... great idea putting it on storage tubs!!
Well it finally happened. I noticed a totally innocuous platter that I did not need and the thought went through my head-hey, I can put chalkboard paint on this. Thanks for the inspiration. Blessings!
Ikeep forgetting to get some of the chalk board paint in a can! I want to try something like this as welll...I only have it in the spray. It can be addicting. cherry
Shoot....forgot to say your Mom's house looks great....love her style!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! Went to your sister-in-laws blog and seen you had a birthday :o) Hope you had a wonderful day.
Oh what a great idea with the chalkboard paint on the tubs! We move with the military so this would be a GREAT thing for me to do when we pull them out for each season. Only thing is, I'd have to use the chalk paint pen thingies so it wouldn't rub off moving here and there.
You are so clever!
Can't wait to see what you're up to in your backyard hun!
The silver platters turned out lovely!
Hugs, Les
very beautiful blog! I'm excited to stay tuned!
