Flea Market Finds

My mom and I got in some fun shopping this past weekend. We both got some great finds at the local antique stores and flea markets. I should have taken a picture of her finds! I will next time for sure.

I found this small basket for $3.00. We used it for our silverware that night.

I got another plate to match the one I found a couple of months ago. This was also $3.00. The owner was driving a hard bargain on this one. She wanted $7.00 for it but I stuck to my guns. :)
My mom and I might have fought over this $5.00 basket. She let me win because she had gotten one about the same size the day before. Neither of us can pass up a good basket.

I found these four jelly jars for $2.00. LuLu posted some good ideas with what to do with these.
This is how I used them last night for Family Night.
I love seeing fun ideas of new things to collect. Thanks LuLu!

How fun that you and your mom went together. :) I can't believe how many people sell amazing baskets at yard sales. We never have to buy a basket retail again. :)

Love your treasures. I have a whole set of jelly jars (mine are actually from Kraft Pimiento spread that my MIL used to make mashed potatoes - really good ones!) We use them for juice glasses. And the good news is....they are very hard to break! With four kids, I should know. ;-)

My parents have a gazillion jelly jars from all of those years of buying apple jelly at the grocery store. LOL They still use them for drink glasses. In fact, I think I may have one of them up in my cabinet. LOL!

Oh yeah, I can never pass up a good basket either. (Shoot, I can't even pass up the crappy ones if the price is good! Haha! With a little paint, crappy turns cute... such words of wisdom, right?)

I love the jelly jars! SOOOO many options with those...

Love the basket. Great way to stick to your guns.

I also love the little jelly jars. Those are perfect for so many things. Esp. for a little juice in the mornings.

I love your blog, and was just recently introduced. You are so creative and crafty.
I have a clear glass jar (like a cookie jar) with a lid in my kitchen. My kitchen is mostly white with solid oak floors and cabinets. I really want something colorful to put in the jar. Any suggestions?
I was going to do animal crackers, but they are pretty much (maybe a little lighter) the same color as my cabinets. Help. I am not creative, in the slightest.
Thanks Jen in WA
I LOVE the chalkboard plate you make last week. Inspirational.
