Lovely Gift

I was so excited when the postman rang my doorbell the other day. I had to sign for this special box because it was from South Africa! Look at the cute bird stamps!

Vashti lives in South Africa and we have quickly become great blogging friends. She was so sweet to send me some bird candles. She saw them when she was in Swaziland and thought of me.

These are hand molded candles. She got to go the place where they make them. Her pictures on her Feb. 16th post are great.

She also sent me this beaded "love" for Valentine's Day. I cannot wait to decorate with it next year although I will probably leave it out for awhile right now because I like it so much.

If you click on the above picture you can read a little more about the ladies who make the beaded items. This organization employs women who are HIV positive and lets them use their creativity to make some money. The beader gets 100% of the profit. I think that is so cool. You can go to Vashti's blog to learn more about her story and her non-profit organization designed to teach South African children about Jesus Christ.

Vashti, thank you so much for these wonderful gifts! I love them all!

How sweet those are! I agree with Miz Darlene, it's always nice to know that you're benefitting someone who needs it vs a big nameless, faceless corporation.
