Keep Calm....

I'm sure you have seen the Keep Calm and Carry On posters. I first saw one on Holly Mathis' blog. I loved all of the fun colors. I bought one on this etsy site. Once I received it I began the search for a frame. I did not want to pay to have it custom framed so I had to get creative. After a couple of weeks of looking I found a frame on the 80% off aisle at Hob Lob. It was one of those that had a cut out for 8 pictures and it had a big chip out of it. But for $10 I knew it was perfect.

I colored the chip in with a black Sharpie. I didn't even trim the print but just laid it on top of the picture mat, covering up the 8 photo spaces.

It just blended right in with the mat. I sat it on my mantle and the lampshade covers the chip. Even if I ever decided to hang it somewhere else the chip is not noticeable at all.

I just love blogging! I never would have discovered this fun poster without blogs. :)

I have been wanting one of those...I saw one over on Ali Edwards blog last year. And right now I NEED that reminder. Yours looks beautiful!

I have seen that sign and LOVE it also. I have purchased several HL frames that were damaged and with black paint or a sharpie you never notice the ding or damage at all! That is just too cute!

Love it. Sharpies are a must have in the decor toolbox along with my hot glue gun.

I have been looking at these posters too...so hard deciding which color! I am thinking it would be perfect in my new work space. I love the way yours turned out!

I really like the way this looks!
Your blog is so cute, great work by Faith. I found you from Denise aka Koffords in CO.
Your blog is so cute and upbeat! I love your Easter decorations, I just blogged about mine yesterday. Come and take a look. I'm also doing my first give away, and it has a book review too.
How did you get 300 comments on your give away?? I feel so humbled, I only have 10 comments thus far.
Have a wonderful day!

I too have wanted one of those posters. I think I'm off to Etsy to check them out. Isn't it so fun to find such a great deal on a frame or whatnot that has a bit of damage....but to know that you can fix it so easily? I sometimes cringe to think of what I passed up pre-blogging!

I had some trouble leaving a comment today but after several attempts, hooray!

I just had to tell you that I love your new little sign and your idea of using a Sharpie. They do work wonders, don't they?

Now you have another addition to your recently updated mantel. It looks great.

Have a great weekend!

LOVE that! I've never seen one...now I want one too. Oh and BTW, I do the same thing with a black sharpie. My favorite pair of black heels got scuffed and the leather got torn, so I just color it every so often. No one has ever noticed. Way to improvise!

Black sharpies. And white toothpaste. Those are my staples when trying to cover things up. Now I know I'm not alone!

Looks great. I love framing things myself...I always keep the utility knife handy. Saves so much money.

So PRETTY!
Don't you just love finding bargains and turning them into something useful and beautiful. It's a gift to be able to see the beauty in something that others might consider junk.
Have lovely day.....KEEP CALM.

I have one too! Mine's pink. I'm thinking we got them from different shops, b/c the shop I bought it from doesn't have neutral ones like that. They're all solid BOLD colors. I still have yet to find a frame & hang mine. She suggested Ikea frames, but I don't have one close by! OR Hobby Lobby! :(

I love it! I think I may just get one :)

Love the way it turned out!

Nice! I agree, you can't even see the chip in the wood. I love rescued frames. Got a ton of them myself.
