Thanks For The Help

Last week I asked you to help me with my mantle. You had the best ideas! Thank you so much for taking the time to put your two cents in. I really appreciate it! This is a reminder of what was on there before:

This is how I interpreted the majority of your ideas:

The consensus was that the topiaries were too small to stand on their own so they needed to be grouped together or not used. Also, there were too many hard angles so I needed something round to soften them. Stephanie (sorry, her link would not work) suggested I get a little extension cord that had a 90 degree plug. I had never heard of those but I found one at Target and it worked perfectly! You cannot even see the plug anymore.

Of course I added a little bird and bird nest.

I am very happy with it now. Thank you so much for all of your ideas! I really loved the idea of finding a round mirror or something round to hang beside the picture so I will be keeping my eye out for something. Until then, I can definitely live with this. Also, a lot of you suggested window treatments and I have been on the lookout for the perfect fabric since we moved in so hopefully I can find that soon too. :)

The new plug is great! We have one of those to plug something in behind our couch--otherwise our couch would stick even farther out into the room than it does now!

I like the books under the topiary too. Great work, as always! :)

The new arrangement looks great! I love the topiaries on one side, together, with the books making one a little taller! They look so much more substantial paired together!

This mantel vignette is definitely a winner! :)

Have a great day.
P.S. I especially have enjoyed all the hymns and their histories that you have posted. :-)
