More Mistreating

I have always wanted to put some window treatments in the living room since this room is the first thing you see when you walk in. After my mantle post most of you suggested some window treatments and that was all the motivation I need to get going! I love having a project. Cody says I am constantly thinking of new things just so I have something to blog about.

BEFORE:

AFTER:
I found some ready made red silk panels at a local fabric store 1/2 off. They were only 96" long though so I had to add some fabric to the top. I had some silk fabric in my stash that tied everything together. I used the "new-sew mistreatment" tactic and just glued the fabrics together. One day I might add some trim where the two fabrics meet.

I think almost every window in my house has straight panels with clip rings on a rod so I wanted to do a little something different in here. I didn't really have a choice on the panel part but I saw these wall hooks at Hob Lob and thought those could work. They turned out to be the perfect size.

I'm so glad y'all gave me the extra little push to do these! They really warm up the space. Cody came home from work a couple of days after we hung them and said that he really liked them and was glad that "we" made them.

I love the red! I would have picked that color for your living room. Watching you have so much fun with mistreatments is really getting me in the mood to try it. I have never ever done anything lik this, so I am very scared of messing up or not getting the concept down enough. I would love to try the valences 1st in my bathrooms etc. Great Job!

Beautiful! What a difference they make in your room...they warm it up so nicely.

I've been wanting to do the same in my living room/dining room but haven't quite found what I'm looking for. I need longer panels for my living room window and haven't found ones that I like that come in 2 sizes. I may have to do like you did and use 2 different materials. I just love that look anyway.
