Valentine's Day Decor

This weekend I went ahead and decorated for Valentine's Day. It is one of my favorite holidays so I like to put a few pieces out. They will only be up for a month so I know I will not get tired of them.
Cody's mom got me this cute Larkspur Lane figure for Christmas. I started to collect Larkspur Lane a couple of years ago and now all of a sudden they are really hard to find. That usually happens to me. :)
A Valentine's frame with a picture of us when we were dating.
I wasn't sure what to put in this cloche so I glued a ribbon to the top with a heart ornament. I just used hot glue so I can peel it off after Valentine's Day.

I can never decide which dish towels to use so I usually use two and switch them out regularly. :)

A little candy jar and candy dish. On a side note-I found this little antique scale the other day and loved it because I have never seen one that small.

I always change out these metal signs above the laundry door with the seasons.

This picture is a little blurry...I bought this primitive heart a couple of years ago on Ebay. I love the glitter on it and the dried flowers. Cody always wonders why I have to have something hanging from every knob in our house! There is just so many cute things out there!

I never think to decorate a whole lot for Valentine's Day other than a candy dish full of conversation hearts with heart ribbon tied to the lid. I love the plate idea with scripture. I think I'll do that today!

I love that plate with the ribbon and especially the scripture you wrote on it! And, of course, I love the scale! It does look awful little ... how sweet! A scale has been on my list of things I'm hunting for for several years now...it has to be the right one at the right price, you know? One of these days, I'll find one. It's fun to have things to look for! Your's is adorable!

Your husband sounds like mine- they just don't get it :) I love hanging things on knobs! Why else would they be there unless they wanted to be embellished? :)

You always have the cutest things! I love your little figurine...too bad they are now hard to find. That just makes it that much more exciting though when you do find one!

I don't usually do much for Valentine's day. I have my apothecary jars filled with glass hearts and I have a little plaque. I need to get looking cause as usual I want a bit more!

Very cute!! I was just thinking that I have to get out my Valentine stuff soon. I love the heart in the last picture!

Shannon said...

Cute decorations Shannon! I especially like the cloche with the ornament. My sister collects antique scales so I always think of her when I see one. I haven't put up decorations for Valentines Day before. Not sure why. . . but I do take flowers to each of my children at school that day and usually make something sweet for my sweetie. I always like the vintage-looking Valentines Day cards- maybe I can make a nice decoration with one of those this year? Hmmm.

Hey Shannon!
Everything you find is so stinking cute! It all pulls together so well. I think that is funny about Cody. It sounds like my husband. He thinks one of my tassels looks like a vodoo doll. Men!

Happy Monday Shannon, seems like forever since I have been by to visit. Love all the Valentine goodies you have out. I miss the times when I didn't work and could decorate for all the holidays. Just don't seem to have the time anymore with working full time. Someday I will go back to it entirely as it makes even the lesser holidays a little special for those you love.
Your home is simple adorable.
Have a blessed Monday.
