Valentine Re-Vamp

Since we were iced in for 2 days I decided to get crafty. I couldn't go anywhere so I had to use some things that I had around the house. This Valentine picture frame has always been a bit off in my kitchen. I think it was all the pink. I love pink but I do not have it anywhere in my home. I needed something with more reds in it.

I took a picture frame I already had and used some scrapbook paper and a rub-on and made this. Have I ever mentioned that I do not like to scrapbook but buy the supplies all the time? I can't resist them and they really come in handy for things like this.

I also went to Hobby Lobby after the ice had cleared from the streets and bought these heart picks. I took off the red ribbon and added the black and white ribbon to tie it into the picture frame.

I hope y'all are staying warm! Our power went out for 9 hours overnight and we were freezing but I know so many people have not had power for a lot longer. We were very fortunate and we are so thankful. Have a great weekend!

I cannot imagine being that cold. My husband is on his way to work in Fayetteville (sp?). He is a trainer for Catastrophe Claims for an insurance company.

Great use of your iced in time! We didn't have it as bad as you did, but I think we are going to invest in a generator just in case we ever lose power. Feel so bad for those that are without power till the mid of Feb!!

9 hours?! Wow! That's a long time! Did you start a fire to keep warm, and put on 3 pairs of socks and two pairs of pants, like I do? ha!

We got a lot of ice, but fortunately, we didn't lose power. I did hear about somewhere on the news...they won't be getting power back until mid Feb!

I love the last framed piece. It is so pretty. You have a lovely blog.

that's so funny about scrapbooking. People ask me if I do it and I say, "no, but I buy the paper and all the other fun stuff that goes with it." It never hurts to have the little accessories when you need them.

I love Hobby Lobby, too. I love rub-ons, too. I do scrapbook and find it very relaxing. Right now, I am getting my relaxing from embroidery, though. Making baby quilts for a couple nieces that aren't even pregnant; just want to have them ready in case. You know, they take about 30 days or so when you really work on them. I have made over 30 of them so far--for every grandchild, niece, nephew and several friends. I have auctioned off 2; one for Sara's China trip and one at the Church fund-raising auction. I get alot of satisfaction from these.
I know you must get alot of satisfaction from your crafting, too. You are really good at it. You can make things look like pages out of the magazines! Keep up the good work. You inspire us!

I love the frame idea! I have lots of valentines stuff left over because as a mom of two boys I have to be careful not to get their pages too girly. This is a perfect way to use some of that!
