Fabric Project #1-Office

I came home Friday night and Cody had hung my drapery rod in the office! I was so excited so I got started on the panels. I got this fabric on clearance at Hancocks and then it was an extra 50% off. You can't beat that so I got 6 yards for about $40.00.
I needed two 96" panels so I cut the fabric in half length wise and began my mistreatments. I ironed a hem on the bottom with some iron on fabric tape.
Then I folded over the top and clipped my rings on.
I didn't even hem the sides. I had planned on using the iron on tape for the sides but I ran out. Oh well. I just tucked them behind the panel and you can't even see them.

That was it! They were so easy and took me less than 30 minutes to "make" them. If I ever get tired of them I could use them for anything I wanted because they don't even have one stitch in them!
This is the view from the hallway. I still have to get used to them because we have lived here for almost 3 1/2 years without anything on these windows. As Cody said, "Ohhh, they really add some color to this room!" Sarcastic or not, he always knows just what to say!

They look great! That's what I love about all my "mistreatments"...that I could SO EASILY use that fabric for other projects later if I wanted. And they could NOT be any easier. I pool mine at the bottom so I usually don't even hem those! ;o)

So what's Fabric Project #2?????

Looks great. It really does add some color. Now that other door...does that lead into a bathroom? How many bathrooms do you have? I only remember 2.

How wonderful!! I would love to have a room to call my own. Yours is just beautiful. We do have four bedrooms but they are used for just that purpose. Maybe one day when the birds leave the nest I may have one of these special rooms.
My livingroom is in need of drapes due to my red sofa change. Im thinking a soft blue. Dont you just love that they dont have to be perfect... like the Nester says. They are are just beautiful..enjoy ~

They look fantastic! I do the same thing...take a while to figure out what to put somewhere, and then I have to get used to my new un-blank look! :) Just did mistreatments in my family room, and I do a double-take every time I first walk in! You did a great job, girl!!

I love your home! It's beautiful and very welcoming. Interior decorating is a passion of mine and I love seeing what other people are inspired to do. We are living in Sicily for a few months in a furnished apartment and so I am going to rely on people such as you and the Nester to bring inspiration to my heart while I'm here. Thank you :)

They look amazing. It brings so much more warmth into the room. We have the same angles in the our cielings. our office has those high pitched cielings too. So hard to paint... those edges are hard. I love your wall color, very neutral and veristale. Did you paint or was it done already when you guys bought the house. I'd love to know the color?

A Hint of Home said...

Well, how easy is that! They look great and do make such a difference. I like the colors in your office.

Window treatments are something that every room in my house is lacking. I only have blinds. I've always used the excuse that I can't sew, but it doesn't look like I can use that excuse anymore. :)

These look great!
