Earring Organizer

I do not know about you but I always struggled with how to store my earrings. I do not have that many but I knew that if I was going to wear them, they had to be out in the open so I knew what I had. I'm not that into fashion and accessories so I needed all the help I could get. This is what I came up with.

Sorry the pictures are kind of dark....this is hanging in my closet. I gathered together a .50 garage sale frame (an 8 x 10), a yard of ribbon from Hob Lob and some window screening from a local hardware store. The hardware store just gave me a bundle of leftover screen so that was free. I took the glass out of the frame and stapled the screen (after I cut it to size) to the back of the frame. Then I stapled the ribbon to the back and tied it in a bow. That is it! So simple and less than $2.00 if you already have the staples and staple gun.
The picture of your man on your wedding day is optional of course.
I am just starting book three of the Twilight series so I will be scarce the rest of the week. I've heard this book is the best!

VERY cute! I love using ribbon all over the place! You are so creative, Shannon!

I just bought a ton of remnant ribbon-in-a-bag at Hob Lob yesterday for only $6, and like I said, it's a lot! I just went through it and it's got some really pretty stuff in it! Woo hoo!

This is a nice Idea,,, looks like a picture,,,
Here's my solution,,, I buy transparent
weekly pill dispensers, small ones for sm earrings and lg for the lg ones,,,I put a pair of earrings in each slot for the 7 days, when you turn them over you can see the earring you want, and when you travel you can just put them all in a zip up pouch and they never get tangled up.
Now can you help me with a way to store necklaces and bracelets??? HA!

Thanks for sharing this again.

What a good idea ;) My problem is I have one of all my earings... I seem to lose them very quickly! Eclipse is great- but the fourth book was my favorite!

That is adorable, and something I've been wanting to do...just haven't gotten around to it!

I'm only halfway through book 2 in the Twilight series...hadn't heard that about book 3. Guess I'll have to get busy reading!!

Good idea! My necklaces are always tangled up in my jewelry box...maybe a couple of cuphooks on either side of the frame to hang them on would solve that for me.

What a great idea. I need the same type of help so my mom gave me a jewerly organizer for Christmas that actually looks like a photo collage on the outside and it hangs on the wall so it doesnt take up any floor space. I haven't read any of the Twilight books, but I hear that they are good. Happy reading!!!

I love that idea! Mine are all piled up in my jewelry box and they get so trangled...it drives me crazy! This is such a good alternative!

Enjoy the book! I started Twighlight last night and stayed up until 1:00 reading. Not the best idea when Brody decided to wake up at 5, but I am enjoying the book!!

VERY cute I love the idea! I wear the same earring every.single.day. though. I'm a sucker for a silver hoop!

Love this idea! I have a jewelry armoire that stores mine...But with Kayla, they are in her dresser drawer...They get scattered and she loses backs and sometimes even one earring...What's the use of other other?!?

So, thanks for this awesome idea!

Great idea... you might be away longer than you think - book 3 AND 4 were my favorite and I had to read them back to back! :)

This is really clever! I just have one of those hanging plastic jewlery holders in my closet and then my favorite good earrings are in an antique bowl on my bathroom counter top. So far Gabby has not gotten in to it.

Love you ideas!!

Great idea! I've always wanted a cute way to hang and display earrings without them getting all mixed up and jumbled in a drawer somewhere. Thanks for the tip!

Oh, and I'm with ya on the Twilight series. I just started the second book and I'm worried I won't get any sleep until I finish the whole series! :)

Very cute. My niece made an earring and jewelry organizer for my other niece for Christmas. She painted a picture on a canvas and then put lace over the top. She screwed hooks into the wood for necklaces and of course earrings can go on the lace. It was very cute!

Amanda@Imperfectly Beautiful said...

How cute is that? I am the same way. If my accessories are not right out in the open in my face I forget about them. I need to make one of these. Thanks for the inspiration!

Great idea.
Have fun with the book.

What a great idea. I'll have to try this for my earrings. Yes, the third Twilight book is the best in my opinion. I read all of them again over the Christmas break and I didn't do anything for a week. Have fun reading!

Shannon, I knew you'd get hooked on Twilight;) After I read each book, I thought it was my favorite...until I read the next! Just wait until you get to the fourth:):):) I "think" it is officially my favorite!

Great idea for the earrings!

Very nice, I have a frame painted and ready to go. I even bought the screen, just need to do it. Now I'm more motivated. I agree with you, I need to see mine out more. I just grab the same few hoops over and over. I really enjoy your style.

I did this same thing a few months ago! But, had my husband put together some old wood for me so it's bigger. ( I have a TON of earrings). It's very handy and looks way cute on the wall in my bathroom too. Great minds think alike huh?

Hi Shannon,
That's a very cute idea. My problem is, I would need tons of them to hold all the earrings. Daughters, sister, mother & friends give earrings as their gift of choice. LOL

Cherry's Jubilee said...

OMan....I am surprised you even took the time to post reading those. I dropped off the face of the earth for awhile. I love your earring holder! My fave is the ribbon. cherry

Amber said...

Great idea! I keep my earrings organized in a plastic divider so that when I travel, I can just throw it in. (We travel a lot with our ministry.) But, this cute display might just tempt me to hang them instead. I would need a much larger frame though!
