Isn't it pretty? It is from Ballard Designs. The colors are perfect for our house since we decorate in red, limes and golds. I just love this rug.
This is behind our front door and the greenery gets changed out seasonally. Of course I had to add a little nest to it.
I love to get out my lime green pillows this time of year. The middle pillow was an after Christmas deal at Target a couple of years ago. It really brings all the colors together.
For some reason I have a thing for Santas and even more so for tall skinny Santas. I got this little guy at Oops a couple of years ago. He has turned out to be one of my favorite decorations.
I added some fake snow to a plate and made a little "scene" from a bird and seasonal nest.
Our end table is decorated with some greenery and a nativity snow globe.
Santa and some more mistletoe.
You can click on this picture to enlarge it but the topper to the Christmas tree is what Cody thinks looks like an alien landed there. There are some red and green glittery picks with some feathers. I love it but it just doesn't seem to make a lot of sense to Cody for some reason. :)
I am so glad we widened our mantel this past summer so we could put our nativity set there this year. I have always wanted to do this and this is the first year I have gotten to do it. I got this nativity last year for 90% off. Good thing too, since it was regularly $300.00! For those math wiz's out there, that means I got it for $30.00! I was almost jumping up and down in the aisle.
For some reason I have always had Cody "pot" our tree in a garden urn. I like that it gives it height and it makes room to put the presents. Funny story--for our first Christmas I knew I wanted it potted so I went to Lowes to buy some cement. Well, while I was there I let the guy talk me into just buying sand. He said that it would hold really well. So that is what we did. Well it probably wasn't a week later that we woke up in the middle of the night to shattering glass. It scared us to death but I knew immediately what had happened....our first ever Christmas tree had fallen over and shattered all our glass ornaments. Cody thought he knew immediately what had happened....he thought someone had shattered our window so they could rob us. Well, he started yelling really loud and mean to scare them away. He scared me so badly (I had never heard him sound like that!) that I couldn't even talk to tell him that it was the tree! :) We laugh about it now but that was not a fun night. Sooooo, I had my dad help him put cement in it and we have not had any problems since. Go with your first instinct girls. Don't let some anyone talk you into anything that you know is not going to work.
I'll be joining up with The Nester's garland party on Wednesday. I can't wait to see everyone's garland!
