What I've Been Up To

Look at this cute bread basket towel that Andrea of Big Creek Cottage sent me! I was so surprised to see a package in the mail and to get this towel was wonderful. I love it! Thank you!
This past weekend I went to visit my parents and grandparents and our mail goal was to redecorate my Grandmother's den. I forgot to take pictures but it turned out great! She bought me these pilgrims as a thank you. I have been eyeing these at Hobby Lobby for awhile now.
I was inspired by this post from The Shabby Nest and wanted to make some for gifts. I made an "H" for my friend whose last name starts with "H". Hope you like it! :)
Lastly, this past weekend my mom and I went to countless Christmas Open Houses so I am inspired to get my Christmas decorations out. I had Cody get them out of the attic last night so I plan on working on it all week. Here are my boxes, not including the Christmas tree! I get so excited pulling it all out because I forget what I have.

I guess I will be parking in the driveway all week which is not good especially since tonight it will be in the 20's. I better get busy on some of those boxes right now...

I'm itching to get my home decorated, too. I think I'll have DH pull my stuff out of the attic today as well! I'm going to try and go crazy this year especially since BBC is really into my seasonal decor and blog posts this year. Shhhh - don't tell DH about his excitement!

I'm working on my decorations as well...there's SO MUCH to go through! I enjoy it though, like you said, I forget what I have since I buy new things to put up at the end of each season! Can't wait to see pics when you're finished.

Oh, and I love those initial pics...going to have to go over to that blog and read the tutorial. :)

Have a great week, girl!

Love the monogram! I'll have to check that link out. I guess I am partial to the letter H, though. ;)

can't wait to see all the christmas stuff! I am getting very antsy about getting all of mine out too. You know, I have found at least two different blogers who host virtual holiday home tours. I think i'll participate in one this year!

Sounds like you had a fun weekend! You have so many Christmas decorations! I cannot wait to see your house when it is finished!

Gosh that was so nice of your blog friend to send you that bread napkin. Great friends here in blogland!

Love the pic you did...I have a couple that I plan on doing also.

Yep got some of my stuff out but have not attempted anything yet.

Such a fun surprise basket you got! Love that!
There are several houses that I have passed this week that already have their decorations up! I guess Christmas is in the air!

Mandi said...

Oh, the framed monogram is perfect for gifts! Thanks for the idea and link.

Happy decorating! I cannot wait to see the finished product! I'm sure it will be perfection. (:

Your 'H' picture turned out great- beautiful work!

Have fun with those boxes- it is always fun to 'rediscover' what decorations you forget about. I always am happily surprised when I pull mine out. Sometimes I pick up clearance items after Christmas to use the following year - I always forget about them so it is like a little surprise when I get the boxes down each year.

I don't envy 20 degrees! But I miss Arkansas!! My sister lives in Mountain View.

Keep warm!

Gail :)

Awesome pilgrims and I love your "H" project too.
I love to open the Christmas decorations boxes because not only do I forget all the goodies I have, I forget what I bought at the clearance. I'm gearing up to do all my decorating this week too.

Sounds like a fun weekend! I miss those Christmas open houses. I used to hit all the ones in the Fort Smith/Van Buren area every year. The stores where we live now don't seem to have them.

Your surprise package is great, too! I love the Thanksgiving tablecloth(at least I think that's what it is--maybe it's a guest towel).

What fun!!!!

Love your cute Thanksgiving goodies and the idea of getting Christmas out and ready!

I have been anxious to do the same, but think I may wait until right after Thanksgiving so I don't put the turkeys away too soon! Gobble Gobble!

Have fun decorating and we'll look forward to seeing all your Christmas decor! :-)

Girl, I have one entire closet dedicated to c-mas decorations...and that's not including the trees! (those are up in the attic). I have 9 c-mas trees. I think. Maybe 10. I can't remember. LOL I'm excited for after thanksgiving to see all of everyone's c-mas stuff!

I love your blog. Thanks for sharing with all of us. I have a question - where did you get the bird print hanging on your wall? I really love it (as well as the rest of your house!) :)

I'm moving things around in the livingroom trying to decide how I want to decorate this season. I have to do this and a little extra cleaning before I can actually start putting up the decorations.
Hope you have fun putting yours up.

Can't wait to see it all together! I look at people's blogs at all their cute seasonal decorations and can't imagine where they put it all! We are seriously short on storage space in our house, so there's no way I could have all those decorations. We'd be suffocating. lol

I think we have just about the same amount of boxes for our Christmas decor! lol Plus I have about 3 or 4 bags from Hobby Lobby that I have yet to empty of new stuff I bought this year already!! :)

Thanks for 'stopping by' earlier...I love to eat out, and honestly wondered how many other people loved to do the same! Thanks for answering the poll...your response made me feel better! I think for us to eat in more, it is going to require a fair amount of planning, cooking double and then freezing, etc...my problem is that I would much rather decorate, write letters, blog, etc...than cook! hee hee Love your decorations and hope you've been having fun taking out all the Christmas goodies! :-)

Hi Shannon! I was in your boat last weekend with tubs galore! My hubby told me I have to buy all red and green ones to reput the things in after Cmas so it's easier for him to find all the right ones! My labels fell off in the hot attic~ oops!
Happy decorating hun!

Love the H picture!
I am holding out until December 1st for Christmas decorating. In fact, I think I'm going to put away all of my Thanksgiving decor the day after turkey day and then live with a "bare" house for a couple of days before I dress it back up. I'm just feeling the need for a little accessory break.
