I Need Your Advice

***Thanks Ladies!! Cream it is!
I'm not really sure what color I should paint these frames. The hunter green does not go good in our house. Cody suggested black and thought my idea of cream was crazy. We need help! :) What color would you paint them?

I'd say black but I tend to paint everything black. :)

I vote cream or even a goldish color might look good next to your curtains. I really like those pictures!

Brittany said...

Definitely cream to make them pop off of the dark wall.

Sooz said...

I like the idea of a gold or cream color. The gold seems like the santa's would stand out really well.

Stacey @ The Blessed Nest said...

I vote for the cream. I like black, but it would just fade into your chocolate walls. The cream color would pop off of them more! They'll look really cute in there! BTW, where did you get that drapery fabric? Love it! Was it Hobby Lobby? I need to make a trip there (1 hr away)!

I vote cream. They would match your molding in your room and your cute curtains. I have cream moldings in my house, and most of my picture frames on my walls are cream. Just a thought.....

Another vote for cream. What is it with men and their opinions on decorating when a) they hardly notice half the time and b) when you end up doing it your way they have to admit you were right and it looks good?!

Black or gold, I like gold but especially for Christmas things.

Lisa said...

agreed... cream or goldish

AJ said...

Cute pics:) I would paint them cream and then wipe with a little brown stain.

Christina said...

Yep, another vote for cream. Maybe distress them a little too.

I vote black, but bigger frames. That way you could add in another, bigger, cream matte and they would have much more presence. I think the red is not highlighted by the luscious chocolate brown walls.

My vote is for cream!

I say black! Cream would make them stand out but I have a thing for black frames! Any way you go would probably be good!

Glamorous Life of a House Wife said...

Cream! It would really pop next to those dark walls!

devri said...

I say gold or cream.. but I don't know anything, what else is in that room?

Sarah said...

Those are great prints. I think a pretty gold would be nice, something soft.

Rambling Girl said...

I say the gold or cream...dark walls, black would be to much dark and Santa would not pop out as much I think as the gold would make them.

Angie said...

I think cream would like nice with your wall color!

Mandi said...

A cream color would look great but so would the gold color in your curtains. I think the cream would stand out more against the brown wall.

Katie said...

I would go cream. I also think that gold like some others mentioned could look really nice, if done really simply, and since they are holiday prints.

Prissy Southern Prep said...

Antique white, cream, or a pretty gold!

kemeche said...

I would say paint them cream, then distress the frame and go back over it with the black to fill in the parts that you distressed for a very vintage shabby chic look.

Coco said...

I would paint them cream and distress

Penny @ Lavender Hill Studio said...

I say black....but bigger frames...

Brooke said...

Yep, cream. I would look great next to those fantastic curtains!

Sherri's Southern Style said...

I vote Cream, with maybe a bit of gold distressing

Brooke said...

Opps..."It" not "I" would look great next to your curtains!!! Well, who knows maybe I would look good next to them too!!! : )

Shannon C said...

gold or silver...maybe add some gingham ribbon

Jennifer said...

My vote is gold! (o:

Joanna said...

I would say cream! Before I even read all the way through, cream is what I was thinking.

Shilo said...

Oh tooooooooo funny! I said "cream" to myself and then read the line about how Cody thought you were crazy for thinking cream! So I guess he would think all of these lovely ladeis are crazy! :)
Blessings!

Shannon, first of all, thank you for your comment on my blog.
As for your frames, I did what I do when I have a color dilemma and "painted the frames" in my photo editing program. Actually I think white looks the best because it matches your molding. I also did them in black. If you want me to send you the pics. I will. Just let me know. Janis

Wow...look at all that feed back in such a short time! I guess I missed out on the fun but I would do creme too. You have a great eye so anything you do would look fabulous!

Cute pics for Christmas decorating! I like the idea of gold for the holiday or a cream color. Have fun with this one!

How about a winter white? I think that would stand out against your walls nicely!

les_mason_curt said...

Creme, it gives the pictures more of a winter-like feel.

Ally0005 said...

I say gold as it is more for Christmas. But cream would work also.

Kathi said...

Cream!!! So glad we agree! Can't wait to see them!!

Vashti said...

It needs to be something that goes with the wall and the curtains.....black does not go!
An Almond cream, or mocha.
But I think not black!
THanks for all your comments today. I love getting comments from you!x

I'm a guy, and even though you didn't ask for the guys opinions I vote for Booger Green.

Erin said...

Such cute pictures! I can't wait to see how you do them!

Empty Nest Full Life said...

Bet they are going to look great. You could probably add some washed out brown to make the frames look a little distressed. Jackie

Lacy said...

Your bloggy friends picked perfect choice....(I have a hunch that whatever you did without help would have been perfect!!!!!) Cant wait to see the cream on the dark brown.

Sue said...

I would say black but you wouldn't be able to see them as much because of the beautiful color of your walls....CREAM will be the choice.

Kim~"HomeIsWhereTheHeartIs" said...

I, too, probably would have said black because that is my new favorite color...lol, but cream will look wonderful in your home!

Vanilla Lavender said...

Hi Shannon! What if you try a distressed off white color? I think cream would look good too! Have a great day! :) Vanessa

I think the cream would be best...it would make the pictures stand out more, and it would match your candle sconces.

Cari said...

Cream would be good I think too! You'll have to show us how they come out.

A Hint of Home said...

The cream of light color would compliment you curtains and really show up on the dark walls.

julie & joe said...

I'd go with cream to make them pop off your wall.

Angie said...

I think the cream would show up good against your walls. Can't wait to see them when they're done!

HeathahLee said...

Aww, I didn't get to vote! : )
(but I'd have voted cream, too!)

JuJu and Family said...

I'd actually do a shinny metallic paint. Have you ever seen that paint that's a mix between silver and gold? It's the holidays and I think something shiny would look good. Take Care

I would definitely do cream. Perhaps a bit of distressing/glaze over it, but cream all the way!

Would have said cream! Post a pic when there finished.

I was asking about the bird print from Nov. 10th which you were showing the family plaque picture (which I've looked for and can't find). I love the simplicity of the bird picture though. Thanks. I love your blog.
