A Few Things

I have not been up to much lately around the house because I have been Christmas shopping, but I have been doing a few things. My mom surprised me with this pretty brown and white plate a couple of weeks ago so I hung it in our room. I love it over this picture. One of my best friends, Leah, drew this picture when we were in high school and I just framed it!
Don't you just love it when you find unexpected things at unexpected places? I was in a fabric store a couple of weeks ago and found this cloche for eight dollars. It was so unexpected but I could not pass it up for that price! I haven't done much with it at this point.
A couple of people asked me where I put the "Family" picture I made awhile back. I added it to our desk in our office. I have mostly black and white things in there.
So there are some things I have been up to the past couple of weeks. Has anyone FINISHED their Christmas shopping? I'm about half way there.
PS Rambling Girl, when I click on your name it says "Profile not available". I want to comment back but I can't get to you! :)

Nope not finished with Christmas shopping yet :(

LOVE that cloche...I found one the other day for $10.00 that I couldn't pass up. Beautiful plate and picture too!!

I'm happy to hear that I'm not the only one that wants to decorate before Thanksgiving. Can't wait to see your decor!

I've been Christmas shopping for months but still have lots to do. We both come from huge families, so it takes me a while.

Love the cloche, by the way. I've seen several that I like but not at that price! Wonderful bargain!

No, I haven't even started Christmas shopping. I'm waiting for all the stores to compete for sales and lower all the prices! Last year I did that and saved a ton and did it all online!

Definitely cannot pass up an $8 cloche...that would be sinful! I got a cute apothecary jar at an antique store a month or so ago, marked down to $7.

No c-mas shopping this year. Usually I do it all in one day. But we are not doing gifts this year because of the job situation. And I'm thinking of not even decorating. :( I love c-mas decorating, but I'm just too upset to even think about it. We'll see what happens.

I have barely begun Christmas shopping. I think a lot will be made this Christmas with a few things to purchase. I went in to sub today and have only 1 day off this week, so it is only Monday and I am even feeling too tired to post right now. Have a wonderful week. Jackie

So pretty, Shannon! And please, tell me where you found (or did you make) the bird nest with bird behind the clothe? It is beautiful! I would love to have one, if I can find it locally or online.

I tried to get rambling girl for a few days and she is not coming up?
I like your new stuff :)

I'd say I'm about half-way done with my shopping as well. Since my mom, sister, and sister-in-law all like to antique like I do and since we all have "our own things" that we hunt, it's always fun to shop the whole year long for each other, then give it on birthdays and Christmas!

I haven't even started yet! Between my job and wedding planning it's difficult to find the time. How do you do it??

I love your new plate! I love brown!

Hey Shannon, everything is beautiful as always. Great deal on the cloche.

I haven't even started Christmas shopping.

I am so excited because my momma happened to find a handful of about five hotel hangers for me at an antique shop and the lady had more at home. YEA! So I am buying the other ten she had at home, too. I was so excited! It's so fun to have unique things like that to collect. I have soooooo many things that I collect and hunt for. Brown transferware is one my family is something my family is always hunting for me. Old hymnbooks, monogrammed silver, interesting black & whites, baskets, tablecloths & napkins (cloth), gosh...there is so much more...

What are some of your things?

Nope, no Christmas shopping yet, but I'm hoping to start on it this weekend. I'm not even sure that my kids have decided what they want, so I'll start with the basics like the pajamas that everyone gets on Christmas eve.
Your new things look GREAT! I love the shape of the cloche.

Does it count that I have some ideas for Christmas? I purchased some things for my daughter and got so excited that I immediately gave them to her...usually what happens when I buy early.

I have some plans to add theme cookies to monogrammed gifts, but too busy otherwise to get to much shopping!

Hmmm...now that I think about it - I AM feeling behind.

Thanks for your sweet note, Miss Bless Our Nest!

I love the family frame you have there. I think I saw that little plaque at Joann's and thought it was cute but really didn't know how I could use it since it's kind of little. I think I may have to "steal" your idea.

BTW...I'm new to your blog and I love it!

Your mom reminds me of my mom! My mom is always sending little things to me for the house or to Gabby! I love it. She has such a dear heart.

The plate is really pretty above that gorgeous picture your friend did. I love the picture frame. Did you add the hook to it?

I love cloches! I have 2 now but I am always looking at them.

Christmas decor I want ot start now but probably won't have time until we return from Paradise,CA.

I wish I was done with my shopping for Christmas!! I keep on finding things I want to make but don't really have the time to.

Almost done with our son but that's it. I like to start early but that gets me in trouble too -- I keep finding the "perfect" things as the holiday gets closer. And I just LOVE shopping during the season too, so I leave some shopping on purpose. Love everything you've done!

I have taken down the Halloween decorations and did a little prep work for T-day, but mostly Christmas shopping and wrapping. Oh, and bday shopping for my sweet pea Chloe Bear. She's turning 8 and loves all things PINK. So, I've been on a spree for her. I finally bought tags for presents, so off to tag things while my kiddos are relaxing.
