Pumpkin Carving Contest

For the past two years our Sunday School small group has had a pumpkin carving contest. It is always a fun time of fellowship with friends. We look forward to it every year.

2006
Camper, pumpkin, snowman, ghost, cat, spider
2007
Cross, flag, not sure-supposed to be a Cub, large pumpkin eating small pumpkin, Razorback, Cinderella's carriage
This got me thinking and I would love to have a Blogging Pumpkin Carving Contest. You can send me a picture of your best pumpkin (only 1 per blog/email) from now until November 2nd. That will give you a few extra days after Halloween in case you carve pumpkins on Halloween night. I will show all the pumpkins in a slideshow, narrow it down to five finalists and then have you vote on which one you think is most creative. And of course a contest means a prize....you know it will be from Oops!
*Your picture doesn't have to be from this year.
*Email your picture by clicking on "send me a little note" under my blog picture.
*You have a little over a month!

that is neat.. we have never carved pumpkins for certain reasons, but this year we found a christian poem that goes w/ carving a pumpkin. I might do that!

Sounds like fun! Does it actually have to be carved, or just decorated in some way?

Great idea! We always carve crosses on ours, so we are a light to our neighbors-we get interesting comments on that!

What a great idea the last couple of years a group of us get together to carve pumpkins I can't wait but in GA if you want your pumpkins to last until Halloween you better wait until around that time to carve them. So good idea extending the deadline.

Wow - you guys are serious! That will be a tough act to follow. DH is pretty good with creative carvings so hopefully we will have something to contribute. Thanks for hosting such a fun contest!

I love carving pumpkins! What a great idea to host a contest for that!! I can't wait. I tend to be pretty traditional, though...not very creative pumpkin-carver over here! But it will still be fun! :o)

Last year was my husbands first time to carve a pumpkin. He REALLY got into it though. I should get his creative juices flowing and enter your contest!
