Front Door Paint

Here is the paint we used for our front door. I got several questions about it so I thought I would be as specific as possible. You can make this paint any color you want. Ours in semi-gloss Black Suede. We used a brush and you cannot see brush strokes. It took about 2 coats with touch ups after that. We did not paint the the door on the inside. We did not even take the door off the hinges. We just wiped it down to get the dust off and then painted. It could not have been any more simple. I think the paint was about $15 for a quart. That was the only cost.

We need to paint our front door soooo bad, but I can't decide what color. But any kind of paint that doesn't require priming is my kind of paint, even if we prefer Lowe's over Home Depot!

Thanks. I just might have to do that in the next few days, while it's warm and sunny.

Thanks for the information. I have never thought about painting my door, just buying a new one, but why should I? They cost tooo much and we have a solid wood, very heavy front door.

Thanks, thanks for the info.!

I love that black door so much that I've been contemplating painting our back one from the garage. More people come through that door anyway, right?? A little nervous about that one. I'll be sure to use that paint, though! Thanks, Shannon!

Our front door is stained oak, pretty but not my style. I've been debating over which color to paint it. I really like the black you chose! Thanks for sharing:)

I want to paint my door red. Does it stick where it closes? How long do you have to wait for it to dry?
