Zach and Shopping

We had a fun filled, busy weekend with Zach and Cody's parents. I picked up Zach at 1:00 on Friday. I was supposed to take him home to our house and let him sleep for a couple of hours. Well, he got a second wind when we got home and didn't get a nap until 3:00. He was still perfect (of course) and did so good when we went out to eat later that night.

I thought this picture was so funny. He was making the cutest expression. I think he played with that water bottle for 20 minutes.
When Cody's parents got here they had a basket full of toys that he absolutely loved. He loved playing inside the basket too! We had a blast keeping him and it was a little sad when he left Saturday morning because the house was just too quiet. He is so cute. (An aunt can say that as many times as she wants!)

After he left, Cody's mom and I got to go shopping while Cody and his dad went to the Razorback game. I think we had a lot more fun than they did since we lost. I didn't find too much for the house but got several Christmas presents out of the way.
I got this great black and white ribbon and cream easel at Oops for a total of $2.95. For some reason I was in to turkeys that day and got this plate and towel set at TJ Maxx. The box of leaves was something random I got at Linens N Things. I have been seeing a lot of you putting out fake leaves and I thought it looked so good. This is what I did with mine:

I put it under the pumpkins. I think I like this better than the raffia. It added more color. Thanks to all of you for the idea!

Your nephew is a "CUTIE". I love the turkey plate. I don't have too many things that shout Thanksgiving. I just adore black and white ribbon for some reason. I'm for sure going to make those boo pumpkins next year, I just love them too :o)

Shannon! I am going to come up to your area one day and go to OOPS with you - you really get the cutest things from there!

The leaves really give the pumpkins that special added touch.

I am still trying to get the linky thing worked on - want to do that one day this week?

He is a cutie...anytime your house is too quiet..you can just fly here and take my girls for some time!! haha..
I use fake leaves too. I have some on a pedestal under a 4 wick candle. It looks pretty. I had some hand me down small urns..greenish in color..so I painted them black this weekend and set them on my hearth..but I want to put the white pumpkins in them. Do you find white pumpkins..or do you buy artificial and paint them? I wondered if you could paint a real pumpkin??

The turkey plate is awesome! As are your other purchases.
I'm amazed that you only bought ribbon at Oops. I'm afraid if there were one by me, I'd bring home a few bagfuls of goodies every time.

I love that Turkey plate. I definitely need to get some more Thanksgiving stuff. Everything I buy (mostly) is just fall-trying to make it work for a couple months. But, I have a few Halloween things-need Thanksgiving stuff to replace that with. Anyways-my point is, I love the plate!

Cute pumpkins and Turkey plate! I love the decorating ideas for Fall on all the blogs. I'm working on a lantern idea for my front porch right now. I saw the original idea in Better Homes and Gardens, but mine is a much more scaled down version ( :

Everything looks great as usual!!!

To answer your ? on my blog, most Caesar dressings are made with raw egg yolk (it acts as the emulsifier) which you can't have while pregnant. Even the packaged dressing at Chick Fil A has raw egg yolk! Normally I don't care but my doctor told me it was a huge no-no now!

Shannon, thanks for the ideas and sweet words. I love the idea of chocolate burlap in that room. I think it will make it look elegant, but still very natural. Now I just have to find it and not spend an arm and a leg.

The BOO is one my favorite decoration I've seen so far. That and the pumpkin garland I made, that I have yet to post. I bought some things at the Dollar Store to try and recreate this BOO decoration for cheap. I was wondering if you happen to have the original picture you had posted with the rafia on it.
