Fun Stuff

I have met the sweetest lady through blogging, Linda at Parker's Paradise. She saw my post on these snack plates and mailed me some from her collection!! She sent several sets and about 10 extra cups! I couldn't believe it when I got it in the mail. I was so excited. This particular pattern is one of my favorites but very hard to find around here. Thank you so much Linda!! You are so sweet! (I'll be sending you a little surprise soon!)

Look at this cute award from My Messy Nest!! She was so nice to pass it along to me. I know several people who deserve a Fluffy Nest Award but I can only pass it along to two people. I think Stacey at The Blessed Nest and Nichole at Our Cozy Nest are pretty deserving. Thanks Kate!

What a sweet surprise!

You know, I have one of those snack plates. It's not that pattern, mine is more of a swirly circle pattern. Anyway, I had no idea what it was until I read your blog! I can't remember if I bought it somewhere, or if my mother gave it to me. For years I used it as a tray in the bathroom for my jewelry. Lately I've been using it as a tray in the bathroom for display.

I wondered what that little circle part was...I had no idea is was for a cup! I used to set my ring holder in it since it fit perfectly. ha!

Oh how fortunate! I have 12 of those sets and many of the cups have broken. :-( I look for cups like that and they are hard to find. Hang on to those cups!!! They are very fragile.

Congrats on the award!

What a sweet little lady. I saw these snack sets at a garage sale (50 sets!) but I just couldn't bring myself to buy them. Now I'm kicking myself about passing them up. Congrats on the award!

Blessings to you and yours,

What a sweet gift that was.
I love the little handles on the cups.

Thanks Shannon for the linking advice. It is a great cookbook. Very good food and simple enough for me to follow :)

F.Y.I. I made a trip to Sephora to pick up my free birthday gift and re-stocked makeup and got some Laura Mercier. I am loving it all ready, especially the lip gloss. It really stays on!

What a wonderful surprise!
I picked up a set of leaf shaped glass plates a couple of weeks ago. I think I'm going to use them for Thanksgiving dessert.

In response to your comment on my blog, I am reading Redeeming Love right now. I have been going through it very slowly because I haven't had the time to sit down and read lately but I am hoping to finish it soon!

Well...life is strange. I left a comment over at 'Feathers in my Nest" today complimenting her on the painted pumpkins. I then proceeded to tell her that someone in blogland monogrammed BOO on theirs and it was to die for. She wrote me back that it was the very person who left her a comment RIGHT ABOVE me! Go figure?? Thanks for the great idea. I have you bookmarked now. I posted a pumpkin arrangement of my own today. Have a good day,
M.L.

Looks like you are ready for fall. It actually felt like fall most of the day. We were out of town, and I don't think I broke a sweat once, which is amazing lately. I picked up a few things to add to my fall stuff, and will be working on finishing up tomorrow. You've got everything looking like all you need is the fall weather. Jackie

Hi there- linked to you off Carries blog. I couldn't believe it when I saw this post- I collect these, too! I just wrote a post about a recent thrift store find. The pattern you have pictured here is one of my favorites- I've been told they were called "snack, sip and smokes", because one of the smaller squares is actually an ashtray. I also collect the Federal Glass Homestead Harvest pattern.

What a lovely surprise to get in the mail!

Thank you for getting me hooked on snack plates. I bought 3 sets! today at a garage sale. I announced to my many children to be on the lookout for them when they hit garage sales and thrift stores. WHY AM I DOING THIS?? I owe it all to you so this is my thank you : )
You have a beautiful home. I have a question. Do your brown walls show dust or are we just filthy pigs and it shows up on our brown walls? Thanks.
