Thrifting

I think Thursday was my most successful thrifting day ever. I went to my favorite antique mall and realized they were closing so almost every booth was 1/2 off! I couldn't believe they were closing but I loved all the deals I got. This isn't everything....I will post what I am most excited about later. I got that heavy glass cake stand for $10, small bowl for $1, gravy boat for $4, candlestick (which is for another project) for $4 and I got the juicer for my Mom (surprise Mom!) for $5. These aren't Goodwill prices but they are pretty good antique mall prices.

As I was shopping today I was thinking about how we get so excited for each other when we find good deals. I love seeing everyone's thrift/flea market/antique finds and hearing about the great deals. Some of my favorite posts are when you show your finds. In fact, the favorite thing I bought today was inspired by one of your favorite finds. I'll show you that later...

Hey Shannon..
I love the cake stand. I have a few..I kinda "collect" them, if you call it that.. I just like them and I've picked up two at thrift/antique stores. That one is very pretty.

First of all, let me say that I LOVE your blog. Your home is gorgeous! Everytime I see a bird figurine or bird's nest I think of you!

You also make me miss NW Arkansas! I would love to move back there!

OK - I am coming to that area next
Tuesday and would love to stop by Oops. Isn't it in Tontitown? Or is there a location closer to Fayetteville?

Now you have me wondering. Can't wait to see what your favorite find was. I think I have a cake plate almost identical to yours and I love it. We used all of my cake pedestals at my daughter's wedding, they make a dessert look so much more delicious. Have a great weekend! Jackie

I can't wait to see what you are going to show as the best the item if these aren't it. Great finds.

It's so sad to hear about more and more antique shops going out of business. I love to go around and just look at things even and daydream about what it was like back in those days or the people who owned the items you buy.

Hugs,
Joanne

I know! I LOVE looking at people's finds! Those are some of my favorite posts on other people's blogs. I didn't know if anyone else did, so I rarely post mine. I'll start from now on.

You sure did luck out. My favorite things seem to be things I have found junking or great finds for a few dollars...for some reason they always mean so much to me.

It can definitely be a great find day or a dry one! That's a pretty cake plate! I've been keeping my eye out for one lately. Somehow, I missed putting on my registry and recently realized I don't have one!
