Join the Party

Rhonda at Southern Hospitality is hosting a party! It is a party to show your favorite antique/flea market find. I couldn't pick just one so I will show you a few. I think I have already talked about all these things so you might be seeing them for a second time.

One of my favorite finds is this green kitchen scale. I love the old green color. I looked forever for one of these in the perfect color. I found this one high up on a shelf in a random antique mall in Ft. Smith. I probably paid too much for it but when you have been looking for the perfect one it is worth it. Eighteen dollars wasn't so bad to me.
This black cabinet is my most recent favorite flea market find. Love it! I laugh everytime I think about Cody and his co-worker going to pick this up. His co-worker is a college guy and Cody said he was in total shock that someone would actually go in a store like that (it was a regular old flea market but to a college guy, it was a complete junk store). Cody just said, "Oh, this doesn't surprise me. It's typical."
I love my white plates. Most of them were found at antique malls and flea markets. One was given to me and the top one is from TJ Maxx.
I can't talk about my favorite finds without mentioning this green cabinet! So sentimental to me that I don't even care that it takes up the entire room and forces the bed to be shoved up against a wall. You can read more about the cabinet here.
I also love my collection of glass jars. I know they are called something fancy but I can't think of it right now. My mom always picks these up for me at estate sales. I love all the different designs.

Now, go to Rhonda's blog and check out all the links.

I love all of the flea-market cabinets that you have! You have all of your little treasures inside displayed so beautifully also! Don't you just love a good flea market? Especially when your hubby goes along to help haul the loot! lol :)

I would love to have one of those cabinets! I have one of those glass decanters and have always wondered how to display it, I love the grouping on the silver tray! You always have such great ideas!

it is all just lovely! love those white plates especially. I'm thinking the glass jars are decanters, but can't quite tell from the photo...does that sound right? Do they each have a glass stopper in the top? if so then I think they're called decanters. nice to meet you!

You have very lovely pieces, love your plates over the bed...I wanted to do that, but hubby wouldn't let me, lol.

Hi, Shannon, I'm sure I've been by here before, but so glad you joined the party! I love your finds & that green cabinet is just beautiful. Love the plates too..I'm also a plataholic.

by the way, it's Rhoda, not Rhonda...no N. And, don't worry it happens ALL the time, since I've been little, I've been called Rhonda!

Hi, Shannon! I love your scale!! But you know what my favorite piece of all is... (HINT...it's big and it's green...)

The little bottles are what I have always called "cruets." When I first saw your's like this all grouped together, I thought it looked so pretty and inspired me to start my own collection. I already had a few of them, but I keep my eye out for them now. I love things like that grouped together!

I love the way you have everything decorated! And the cabinets, WOW!!! I love the black one, but I love, love, the green one. I'm like you, I wouldn't care if I had to sleep on the floor that green baby would have to go in my bedroom! HA!. Thanks for sharing.

LINDA said...

The little bottles are cruets--for vinegar and oil. I have several myself but never thought of this type of display. I have quilt racks with shelves over every window in the house and I display my bottle collection on one of these quilt racks. BTW, I use the quilt part for tab top or pocket curtains as well as cloth dinner napkins. I adore the cabinets. They are so beautiful. The collection of white plates is absolutely awesome--way cool. Can you tell I was a teenager in the 60's?
I have 6 antique scales like that. Thanks for showing me how to display one. I am a collector but not always good at putting things on display. I need someone to come over and go through my things and put them out to their best advantage....Are you busy next week?

Shannon, it would be hard for me to choose between all of those too. I love the scale. I think I am going to be on the lookout for one of those, it reminds me of the one my grandfather used to weigh vegetables that he sold. I am going to that Junior League yard sale tomorrow evening with my daughter, who knows maybe I'll find one there.

There's another Bella! That is so rare with people around my age! Yay! ha! Okay, I love love love both of your cabinets, I really do. And I also love the plates, my sil did something like that in their kitchen and it's just so simple and so pretty!

Lisa Ann said...

I love the cabinets. Your plate collection is beautiful.

Marie said...

You have the best cabinets! I still can't beleive you found them both at thrift/junk stores! What were they thinking? ;o)

Suzanne said...

Hey Shannon!
I love all of your finds. I love to go to the antique malls/flea markets when I can. They really have some great finds!!
Okay now the real question is where did you find your white bedding? I want to redo my master bedroom and I want the white bedding. I really love a duvet cover from Restoration Hardware but it is pretty $$$. I want to do the whole blue and white color scheme with some browns mixed in. Anyways...maybe you can do a post on linens or something.
Okay now since I have written you a novel I am going to go, but I also wanted to let you know I am thinking of starting a blog. I think my first post might be when I spray paint my entry table. Stay tuned...

Hi Shannon,
I love the thrifty finds in your post! The cabinets look great.
And I don't think $18 is too much to pay for something if you really like it!
You did good,

But seriously, I love how you have everything arranged to make it looks it's best. Oh, and those are cruets (the glass decanters). Love them!
I'm not brave enough to have anything that breakable around just yet. Maybe when the kids move off to college.
