Free Rocks!

While we were driving around the new construction in our neighborhood we saw a pile of rocks in a trash pile. We have been wanting to put some sort of edging around our trees in our front yard so we grabbed those rocks and an hour later this is what we got:
It looks so much better than having nothing at all. Cody is happy since it will be easier to edge around them. He used to have mulch flying everywhere! You can't beat free!

I just found your blog and I love it. My daughter told me about it and she was right. It is fun to read and look at. I love your decorating style. I have a suggestion for your mantel, that you think is so wierd. My husband is a builder and I saw am idea in a model home several years ago that would work great for this. It isn't very expensive at all. If you are interested please e-mail me at kim.harden@cms.k12.nc.us I will send you some pictures of my home(before and after), that is if you want me too. We had a new home and sold it to buy one a several years older because I wanted a project and that's what I got. It has been so much fun. I can't wait to hear from you. If you get a chance you can visit my daughters blog at jczsallison@blogspot.com

Hmm, Daddy got a lot of things free for landscaping, including rocks and trees. I went by the house I grew up in one day on a visit home. The "free" pine trees in the back yard were HUGE! I said something to him about it and he said, "yeah, those are (insert big lumber conglomerate name here)'s fast growing Lob-lollies." I said, "should we call them and tell them their timber is ready to harvest?" Daddy found the trees lying in a ditch next to one of their plantings and brought them home.
