Before and After

We painted our guest bathroom when we moved in our house 3 years ago. We painted it Sherwin Williams Shagreen. As soon as it went up I knew it was too bright but I didn't have the heart to have Cody repaint it. It just never felt right so this weekend I repainted it.
This is the only before shot I got. I hope you can tell the difference in the pictures but it is kind of hard.
Here it is during the painting. You can kind of tell the difference between the two. It already looks better don't you think?
The new color goes a lot better with the other tones of our house and I'm so happy with it. It is a much softer color.
The new color is Sherwin Williams Svelte Sage recommended by The Nester. I love getting ideas from other bloggers. Thanks for all the great inspiration!

Beautiful green color! I had a similar problem with I painted our hall bath a couple of years ago. The green was just way too minty. For a couple of months I tried to convince myself that I like it. Finally, I picked out a new color and repainted. Much happier.

Looks great Shannon. I'm just glad you're the one painting this time--not me! I love the little "Enjoy" tea towel. Buttons on there? Too cute!

Shannon, Love the new color. Then again I love everything you do. Thank you so much for the award. I am tickled that you thought of me. I have been so busy I just now had a chance to read your comments. Your new blog design is fabulous. I am going to look into changing mine. Take care, Heather

That color is beautiful! I love those tall glass "thingies" on your counter. Are those nests in there? Too cute! And of course, that tray on the wall is great!

I love that color I need to paint my bathroom so bad but just can't muster up the energy. It looks really good!

I like the new color! (I liked the one too, but what do I know?)

re: my potato mashers. I love them too. I hate that they are hidden away in a box. I am considering opening a junk/thrift store in my own house to get rid of everything.

Love the new color. And the casing around the window is awesome. Very bold!

That green looks awesome in there. Green is my favorite color, and it's sad I dont' have any green paint in my home. My bedroom needs to be repainted, maybe I'll try it out.

Ooh, nice! I like the old colour, but the new one is so much more...I don't know what...It's just better, I guess. And it suits your stuff better too.

I love the new green color. I think that is the shade that I had wanted for my dining room when we moved into our house about 4 years ago. It did not turn out even close. It looks closer to a light golden color with maybe a hint of a green undertone. I like it but it doesn't look at all what I picked out. I, too, didn't have the heart to make my husband repaint. Maybe we'll take on the challenge of the very tall walls together someday.

I have enjoyed reading your blog today. You are so creative. I didn't get that gene. I am always trying to think of ways I can update my home of only 3 years without spending a ton of money. I have been looking for an apothecary jar for bath salts and can't really find one. Actually, I found one in Southern living at Home, but $$$$$$$$$$.
I'm looking forward to reading your blog more.

Hi. I found your blog through Katie's! Nice to meet you.

Bless your heart! I am in a very similar situation with our upstairs bathroom paint color. I thought it would end up being a nice rose color but ended up being raspberry. It looks quite bright. I am giving it more time before I mention it. :)

Blessings to your day,

I adore your style!

Thanks to all you creative people who share your knowledge with folks like me! How could I reach this age and not know how to decorate when you seem to do it so effortlessly!!

I must have found you through Nesting Place, and Nesting Place I found through a decorating forum on

I would love your advice on what to do with my chocolate brown kitchen! Now that I took the plunge I am stumped... you can see the photos here:

I love your svelte sage bathroom.. and all your touches are perfect.
