Oops!

One of my all time favorite stores in my area is called Oops. I do not know why it is called this or do I care because I just love it so much. They buy overstocks from stores and their latest shipment has been from a tornado damaged warehouse in Memphis. However, none of their merchandise is ever damaged. Maybe it is called Oops because they buy from stores that say, "Oops! I overstocked!". My husband says it is called Oops because when I come home I say, "Oops! I bought too much!".

They have stuff that is in all the decorating shops around town but for rock bottom prices. I'm talking like garage sale prices. It is great! I found this great piece today for $11.00 and the frame for $3.75. Crazy! I looked at this exact piece at a decorating shop in town for $60.00!!! Not even kidding.
I thought I could use this piece in several different places. I could use it as a centerpiece or for a party with food and utensils in it. I got the idea of putting it in the bathroom from The Nester's latest post at Blissfully Domestic. What else could I use it for?
My question for you is do you think I should paint it? Right now it is a gray color but I'm thinking I might like it in a cream or maybe even a dark brown.
So from now on, when I say I got something at Oops you will know what I'm talking about and you can be jealous. Just so you are not too jealous, you must know that it is a definite hit or miss (usually a miss) but lately it has been a big hit.
You can look at Kelly's post here and here to see about her latest Oops find.

Thanks for the shout out! ha!
I think I saw that little bird tiered stand and now I'm thinking I should go back and get one - it would be great as a serving piece!
They had a LOT of bird stuff - it made me think of you!!!!

I'm shouting out a big NO FAIR that I don't have an Oops store!
I would really love some of those apothecary jars too.
I'm shocked at the vast price ranges their are for those things.
Cloches are like that too. I see them for 15-50 dollars!

Shannon- you can find plate hangers in Walmart and the likes... just look in the nail/fastener/hook aisles. They come in varying sizes. Have fun and good luck at the thrift store! Check it frequently- I'm going back to mine today to see if the chandelier and shades I saw on Tuesday are still there. I had a change of heart. ha ha

Wahhhhh I want an Oops store too.

I wouldn't paint it. Not sure if the color is deceiving on my monitor but it almost looks like a muted brownish color. :) I love it.

What a great store. I believe you about those prices elsewhere...don't see how people even consider paying those.

Oh Shannon, thank you so much for the Office info, my son checked it when we got home and I was bummed. However, I didn't have these episodes dvr'd yet so I was excited, any Office is better than none right?! Plus there are 4 of them on!!! Yeah!
Ok, I love OOps!!! I love it how it is, anything that provides vertical storage and has a cute little birdie on top would be in my cart!

Hey! You don't know me, but I read your blog once in awhile. I love it! Can you tell me where this store is??!?!? That is right up my alley! And its funny--we live right near that warehouse the tornado destroyed! Would you mind emailing me to let me know where it is. I would love to take a field trip! desperk@bellsouth.net
And, if you would like I can send you an invite to read my blog (I made it private). Just let me know! Thanks!!

This is weird, but I have your blog bookmarked and check often to see your cute decorating style. I have never left a comment before though. Then, today I see your comment on Destiny's blog and hers on yours. She used to be my neighbor and just moved recently! So, anyway just wanted to let you know I was here and I love your blog! My blog is private too. I can add you if you want www.ethanandellastories.blogspot.com

Hi, Shannon! I just jumped over from the Nester. I love your blog! I'm so excited when I find a new blog I love! :o) I have already wanted to make comments on a bunch of your things but I don't want to annoy you! So, here are my random tangents: I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE those bird prints, and what you did with them! The tiered piece in the bathroom looks so pretty, especially with the little framed monogram. I am all about ANYTHING monogrammed. Hydrangeas are one of my favorites, too. My favorites are Annabelle and Limelight. I hope your's perk back up after the frost. Hopefully, you just lost the blooms for this year and not the entire plants! I'm excited about your plate collection...I just love dishes, be them hanging on the wall or anywhere else. Thrifting/antiquing/junking is one of my favorite things to do. I really and truly RARELY buy things from my home that are not from these places...honestly! What is this ridiculously gorgeous green cabinet in the next post??? I must go read about it... Then, I am going to dig through your archives. I will try not to overload you with comments on your old posts...but I can't make any promises! :o) I'm Katie, by the way! Nice to meet you, Shannon!
